Rick's World Through The Lens. March 20, 2012. March 20, 2012. This was the last shot I took. I was walking back to the stairs to go back up the cliff and spotted this composition. When I viewed the three shots on my camera's LCD, I was pretty sure I had a winner. The beach at Horton Point, looking out onto the Long Island Sound, in Southold, NY. HDR I have slowly gotten more and more into HDR, as I seek to find ways to render the scenes more as I saw them, rather than simply as the camera is capable of.

I shot this using a shallow depth of field to really bring the focus on her eyes. A reflector at camera right throws some light into her eyes and creates some nice catchlights. Thursday, February 24, 2011. Mr and Mrs. Waters. If I were to ever get married agian I would take quite a few note from this one. They had a very intamate ceremony with only parents and siblings, then a HUGE reception! I also love the fact that it was a winter wedding and, despite the FREEZING COLD temp, it was perfect! Even a lady bug crawled right up to me during some down time and I was able to get some awesome shots of it! Brianna was one of my very first Shoots EVER! These two are NUTS!
