Liblouis Release 3.0.0. 15 Jul 2016 - Liblouis. This is the biggest release of liblouis in years. The major news are that we now have proper support for UEB and secondly that liblouis is now licensed under LGPLv2.1. This release also changes the C API. External applications will have to adapt the way they call liblouis. In particular the typeform parameter has changed. Support the many emphasis classes needed for UEB. Support translation of numbers according to the rules of UEB. Support for numeric mode.

There are a couple of new features like end note functionality and boxlines for example. Also there is an extensive test suite now and the documentation has been vastly enhanced. Added an extensive test suite which tests liblouisutml under various circumstances. Add a configure option to disable the Java bindings.

The Liblouis software suite provides an open-source braille translator, back-translator and formatter for a large number of languages and braille codes. It is a set of libraries designed for use in any of a number of applications, both free and commercial.
