Knitting from the hip: ... but not forgotten.
http://knittingfromthehip.blogspot.com/2008/10/but-not-forgotten.html
Knitting from the hip. This is my story. I haven't forgotten about the blog, or knitting. It's just so hard to knit when it's hot outside. Now that the weather is cooling off and the days are getting shorter, I plan on having more string on the sticks soon. Three friends just had babies so I suppose I'll try making some kid stuff. I've also been thinking about trying to make a sweater. We'll see. Labels: knitting kid stuff sweater. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm sticking to it.

Knitting from the hip: 01.08
http://knittingfromthehip.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Knitting from the hip. This is my story. I thought my first hat was pretty cool so I decided to try another one. I'd been reading up on knitting stuff so I thought I do my next hat in the round. I bought some double pointed needles and nice wool, and got to work. I did my first project back in June of '07. It was a hat. A simple one. 60 stitches on strait needles then folded over and sewn up the back. I got the pattern out of some teen knitting book I found on the bookmobile. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Knitting from the hip: Skully
http://knittingfromthehip.blogspot.com/2008/06/skully.html
Knitting from the hip. This is my story. So here is the first flat thing I've completed and liked. It's a dish towel! It's got a skull on it! Labels: skull dish cloth. Is it really big enough to be a dish towel though? Hard to tell from the photo. Very cool! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm sticking to it. View my complete profile. Follow me on Twitter. Knitting from the hip. This is my story. Hat #3 (Kel's Hat). I didn't use a pattern. I just went for it. Zissou Hat (take 1). So I got this idea to make a Steve Zissou hat. (From the movie The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I ran out to buy some red yarn and got right to work. I started off by making a swatch to measure my stitches by like you're supposed to. I measured my head. I measured my swatch. I did the math and got knitting. Pattern. Wish me luck. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I'm sticking to it.

Knitting Friendzy
Sunday, January 29, 2012. Back 2 1/2 years ago when I started knitting, I started a baby sweater. I got the back and front, and both sleeves done, but struggled when it came to the hood, so I just gave up and put it away. It's been gnawing at me all that time! A new sweater was born! Do I have a baby that I had knit this for? No I just liked the yarn and the colors and decided to make it. I will either gift it to someone, or put it away in hopes that some day I might have a grandchild. Hopefully. Right n...
Knitting Frog
Monday, 11 May 2009. When Honeygirl announced she had brought me a yarny present I was far from imagining that she meant not 1, not 2, but 8 balls of the most gorgeous lace-weight alpaca, in undyed cream colour, begging to be knitted up into a gigantic shawl. I can't stop looking at it, and the nerves are beginning to show as I am not sure I will EVER find a project to do it justice. Or maybe I have to find out if there is a place that would allow to legally wed my yarn.I have always wanted to elope!

Knit Cook. Write. What I do when I'm not working. Sometimes I even write about it! Quinoa Salad: A CPK knock-off. So, I went to Columbus with my parents last week because my dad was on vacation and we wanted to get out-of-town for the day. We decided to have dinner at California Pizza Kitchen because we had free vouchers. How did we get those? It’s freaking delicious. Prepared quinoa (I used the whole recipe of the 1:1.5 ratio above). 1/4 cup pine nuts, toasted. 4 sun-dried tomatoes in oil, chopped.
