The incessant ramblings of a 40 something wife in Texas who attempts to knit, at a rather slow pace. Sunday, January 4, 2009. So much for a relaxing Sunday. File and BEG for mercy from the gal in AP to let me submit the accrual on Monday. She's being sweet and allowing me to do so, therefore I spent a good part of yesterday and today coding that invoice. I have to pull large files from the server via the VPN. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. My Favorite Blogs to read! Which t...

Learn how to knit socks -. I still havent learned how to do it, and I have the stuff to do it! Keep a daily journal. I might add some more to this...

The incessant ramblings of a 40 something wife in Texas who attempts to knit, at a rather slow pace. Sunday, January 11, 2009. What makes you excited? It gets funny every time. I wonder when I get much older, what I will get excited about? Will it be dentures? Or getting the to actually join AARP. Or getting the senior discounts? I guess as we get older, things just change! It's been a pretty OK. I believe, and I think that he did too, that their flight was at 9:15 am. Saturday rolls around and I am ...

The incessant ramblings of a 40 something wife in Texas who attempts to knit, at a rather slow pace. Saturday, January 31, 2009. Which team are you rooting for? That was the question I had this afternoon, when picking up the dog from the groomers. I had told her that we were having a few friends over for the Superbowl game. What a good question, I have not a freaking clue. I am more interested in eating the hot wings and watching the Superbowl commercials! The commercials are the best! Ideas/trackers eac...

The incessant ramblings of a 40 something wife in Texas who attempts to knit, at a rather slow pace. Sunday, March 22, 2009. It's been a while. It's been a while since I last posted. So much for those new years resolutions. But life has kept me super busy. Family visits, work, etc. Today, I had the best time; I met up with three other friends for knitting and chat. They are all accomplished knitters and I am so happy to be able to be friends with them. The ladies are so very nice; and two of them...A 40 ...

Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen: Whip It Up Week 3 - An Asian Adventure!
http://theexclamationkitchen.blogspot.com/2008/07/whip-it-up-week-3-asian-adventure.html
Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Friday, July 25, 2008. Whip It Up Week 3 - An Asian Adventure! I was in the mood for something different this week, and a package of ground pork spoke to me when I was in the grocery store the other day. Then I remembered there were two recipes over on Shawnda's. Blog that I had been wanting to try, and both of them used ground pork. Pork fried rice and potstickers it was! Stick to the pot. They may not have been pretty, but they still tasted great! 1 cup green peas.

Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Friday, January 23, 2009. The FedEx man rang my doorbell this morning, bearing a small package for me. I had no idea what it was - I certainly wasn't expecting anything. Then, as I looked at the sender on the label, I started to remember. Back in mid-December, Foodie Bride. Had emailed me to alert me to the last Blake Makes giveaway. Showed up on my doorstep this morning! If you haven't heard of Amano. Have you ever seen out there? Is the special bar, I am told. ...

Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Saturday, August 2, 2008. Whip It Up Week 4 - Chocolately Goodness! Thanks to some extreme technical difficulties, I'm about two weeks behind in posting Whip It Up updates - sorry everyone! One of my favorite things about being back in San Antonio is that I can occasionally run by Joseph's Storehouse. San Antonio's premiere restaurant/bakery/church - again for lunch or a sweet treat, like Amy and I used to do when we were at Trinity. And, like my mom's recipe, it can...

Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Sunday, January 27, 2008. Just in time for Mardi Gras - King Cake! My dear husband grew up in Slidell, Louisiana, so the question is not whether or not we will have king cake at this time of year. It's more a question of how many, what kind, and where we will get them from. Thanks to my lovely friend Erica. Parker House Roll Dough*:. 6-6 1/2 cups all purpose flour, divided. 1 stick unsalted butter, melted. 2 cups hot water (110-120 degrees F). Turn out onto a floured...

Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Sunday, August 10, 2008. Whip It Up 5 - Peach "Cobbler". Why, you may ask, did I put "cobbler" in quotes in the title of this post? Instead of using sugar, I used Splenda, and I used what I refer to as "fake butter" (i.e.,. I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light. 2 cups sliced peaches. 2 cups sugar, divided*. 2 teaspoons baking powder. 190; cup flour. 190; cup milk. 190; cup sweetened coconut. 189; cup chopped pecans. Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Thursday, July 24, 2008. Whip It Up Makeup. I was a busy, busy superhero last week, and although I did managed to try a new recipe (two, actually), I didn't manage to find time to write it up and post it. So here are last week's recipes, and hopefully tomorrow I'll get this week's (and yes, there are two recipes again this week too) posted. Our annual tubing trip was last weekend, and that meant I needed cookies! Grandmommy's Peanut Butter Cookies - With a Twist!

Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen: Whip It Up - Pasta!
http://theexclamationkitchen.blogspot.com/2008/07/whip-it-up-pasta.html
Two Women Superheroes in the Kitchen. Thursday, July 10, 2008. Whip It Up - Pasta! Okay, for my first foray into the Whip It Up. Challenge, I stuck to the suggested theme of pasta. My friend Sarah. Had recently posted this Rachel Ray. Recipe on her blog and I was interested in trying it out. I made a few modifications of my own, which I have made note of below. Bryon and I both liked it, and it was super-easy, so I think it will definitely stay in our "rotation.". Easier than lasagna, because it's not, t...

Tagline: Customize at (Settings Tagline). Knitting, whether the finished product or the actual activity, tends to conjure up warm, homey and nostalgic images. Perhaps a vision of your mother or grandmother sitting by a fireplace, the dog curled under her feet while the rapid clicking of her knitting needles lulls you into slumber comes to mind. Far from being something that has faded away with past generations, today’s modern life still benefits from this cozy craft. What makes this knitting unique?

Sunday, November 12, 2017. Susie's Reading Mitts and Half Granny Square Shawl. Susie's Reading Mitts is a free pattern on Ravelry. It's a very easy and well-written pattern. I'm a beginner crocheter and am please at how it came out. It's addictive and I've now completed four of them. Links to this post. Wednesday, September 20, 2017. I am a tot...
