Make Food Not [Body] War. A heart at peace gives life to the body… -Proverbs 14:30. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. As a Note –. My School of Thought. January 20, 2013. We’ve all heard that saying “When God closes one door, He opens a window.” I first heard it in my beloved musical-turned-movie, The Sound of Music. What a lovely, peace-evoking phrase. And it is from this phrase that I found inspiration for this post🙂. I’m no expert, but this scripture comes to mind:. God is the sourc...

September 15, 2012. Things are hoppin’ here at school – and I expect posts to be quite sporadic for the next couple of months. But when inspiration strikes…there’s no ignoring it! It’s funny where that inspiration comes from sometimes, though. I don’t blame him one bit! And then the metaphor (thus inspiration) struck.

Further Up and Further In. Are You a Priest? May 27, 2012 · 9:59 pm. Ask and the Universe Will Respond? There’s a popular idea making its way around the pop-spirituality and personal development circles. The nub of the idea is that we human beings shape much of reality through our thoughts. This idea, a blend of true science (mostly quantum physics, the darling of newthought/new spirituality. And is also the basis of. Which calls this idea the Law of Attraction), and. 8220;Is Reality and Illusion? The va...

Walking backwards: because 140 characters won't work
http://adventuresofjulia.blogspot.com/2012/07/because-140-characters-wont-work.html
Wednesday, July 25, 2012. Because 140 characters won't work. No way this could fit on FB or twitter. There are days that I think - "wow. my life could have been a movie! Or, "this story is great! And then there is today. I'm gonna back up quickly - the last 11 years have been quite a trip. From jungles in Belize, villages in Ecuador, the inner city in Maracaibo,Venezuela, and Kingston Jamaica, the beach in Phuket and the mountains in Chang Mai, Thaland. From two beautiful children that are - in my humble...

Walking backwards: tomorrow would have been the day
http://adventuresofjulia.blogspot.com/2009/12/tomorrow-would-have-been-day.html
Tuesday, December 29, 2009. Tomorrow would have been the day. Dec 30. Now, I know that only 5% of babies show up on their due date. but regardless, the date that will always echo in my heart will be Dec. 30. I still believe all that I said I believed here. I also believe that this hole in my heart is healing. not because there is a new life growing inside of me right now. but because my God is in the healing business! My heart would be healing regardless of whether or not I was pregnant. Thinking of you,.

Walking backwards: and heaven is richer for her life here
http://adventuresofjulia.blogspot.com/2010/08/and-heaven-is-richer-for-her-life-here.html
Tuesday, August 3, 2010. And heaven is richer for her life here. Wednesday I lost a dear friend. I have waited to put this in writing for fear that I could not represent her life well in words. and so, here goes. She loved all. She was patient with people. She taught at the detention school here in our town and loved those children dearly. She made it clear that she knew she could have an impact on lives that were not always easy to love. This is what I will always remember about my dear friend. So f...

Walking backwards: wow - march.
http://adventuresofjulia.blogspot.com/2012/03/wow-march.html
Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Jan 1-march 7 has been quite a trip. But for now, I am going to try to just put words around the last week. R and I bought a house last Wednesday, and thanks to TONS of help Friday and Saturday - we are moved in! Pretty amazing to be in my own home! We loved our last home in VA, but it was always a rental. ya know? So crazy for this to really be ours. The one phrase I am sure I heard 1 million times was "you aren't doing too much are you? My dad was on his way home from church o...

Walking backwards: Without the blood, there can be no life.
http://adventuresofjulia.blogspot.com/2009/06/without-blood-there-can-be-no-life.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Without the blood, there can be no life. I will start by stating the facts, and then will go on. . It is really hard to put into words the weight of the day. . My baby is no longer alive. . Those words echo in my heart. . That is enough of the technical stuff. Our hearts hurt tonight. I have no symptoms yet of a miscarriage outside of knowing what the sonogram showed us all too clearly. I am sure that will come in its own time. . I know whom I have . And am convinced that he .

I reported on my Lenten observance this year: that of seeking to see God in everyone I encounter. As might be expected, I have done an abysmal job of this so far. Long years of crusty habit have made the faults and foibles of others too easy for me to find, and God gets lost in all the judging. Tagged as finding God. March 10, 2012 · 5:38 pm. Are You a Priest? | Further Up and Further In

Further Up and Further In. Low Attendance Sunday: Easter 2. Ask and the Universe Will Respond? April 27, 2012 · 9:07 am. Are You a Priest? It’s a question I’ve been asked on more than one occasion. The questioner usually is asking if I am an ordained member of the clergy of the Episcopal Church. The answer, for the record, is no (although I have considered it from time to time). The other question I get, of course, is, Are you thinking about becoming a priest? But what is a priest, anyway? Not only does ...
