The straight sidewalk has been bucked and heaved from unseen forces below. In some spots it presents a 3-inch tripping hazard to those walking on it. In others, it’s flat and apparently unharmed by tree roots or inferior materials or ice and cold. I appreciate perfect sidewalks but I learn from imperfect paths. Temple Square houses facilities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often known as the LDS Church or the Mormons. The Salt Lake Temple was dedicated in 1893. Restoration of the Melchizedek Priesthood. The grounds evoke contemplation, and this couple appeared to gaze at the Temple in that spirit.

A larger part of the herd ran ahead where a police car slowed traffic and tried to channel the animals to safety.
