Friday, April 11, 2014. Ashley and Soren visited from Boston! Soren and Isla are only a month apart, and it was very cute to see Soren interacting with his cousins. We were unable to do any sightseeing until the very last day Ashley was here, which turned out to be a surprisingly freezing day! We jumped out of the car, ran to the Alamo, ran down to the Riverwalk, and sprinted back to the car, with most of the kids crying about the cold. Everett and Faye in the kitchen sink! It turned out to be a really, ...

Friday, January 16, 2015. December 2014: Trip to VA. My parents considered coming to San Antonio for Christmas, but instead they generously offered to help us fly out to Virginia so we could all be together. Rick had to work every day between Christmas and New Years anyway, so the kids and I took off for Virginia early Christmas morning. Very excited to fly and visit Pappy and Grandmama! That lady missed out on some great conversation opportunities. Here are all the grandkids with Pappy and Grandmama....

Tuesday, August 11, 2015. June began with the end of the school year. Faye had joined the YMCA's preschool in January and had a great six months with Miss Melissa and Miss Lora. They run an amazing group there! Faye loved to report to me who got "on red" (aka in trouble) each day and which girls wanted to marry which boys in her class. Her handwriting also improved a lot! She really worked the kids hard. Everett had more homework than Carson ever did! Everett's writing skills really improved this year, a...

Monday, December 29, 2014. November began with a good-bye: Pappy left after his week-long visit. Windy Faye on Veteran's Day. We should have gone out for free meals and such with our active duty military IDs, but Rick worked late. Isla the potty trainee. I will admit to sort of forcing this one to potty train on my time table. After seven years of diapers, I am ready to be done for a while! She caught on very quickly, although she's taking a while to get the poop in the right place. One of Rick's many ta...

Sunday, April 26, 2015. Sunday afternoon ice cream making. This sweet girl is two-and-a-half! My sister Ashley and Soren came to visit! They spent a couple of days in Austin with The Hales, and we took a day trip to Austin to then bring her down to San Antonio. We visited the Nature and Science Center. Everett had been saving a big rock with a fossil in it for a long time to bring and trade in for points! We finally got the AC fixed in our van! After this very uncomfortable ride home from Austin.). We ha...

Tuesday, December 31, 2013. This was just before getting our family pictures taken. I think everyone was actually in a better mood here; if only I had a nice camera they would have been keepers! And Isla actually had a headband on if you can believe it! Faye at the car wash. While the boys remained thrilled about the whole thing, apparently Faye had no idea what actually happens during a car wash. She went from being this excited about it, to. Monday, December 30, 2013. My amazingly talented friend Kim t...

Saturday, August 15, 2015. We started our Fourth of July celebrations with the church's pancake breakfast. Then Ali led the kids in making some cute patriotic crafts while we prepped food. We swam and ate and played with water balloons that Jeanel had brought! Faye's cousins would often find little toads, and she adopted one to keep as a pet. This was her reaction when she found out that "Coca" had died. We ran out of time to make homemade ice cream on the fourth but did it the following Sunday instead.

Friday, March 27, 2015. On the 100th day of school, Carson's grade dressed up like they were 100 years old. Carson really wanted a beard, and luckily the dollar store had some! He looked awesome and got to be on Scobee TV that morning. Everett's grade had to create a collection of 100 things; it could have been anything. Well, Everett decided to cut out 100 paper snowflakes. It took hours! But he stuck with it and made a poster with 100 snowflakes. Faye is so comfortable around dogs! One beautiful day in...

Monday, July 7, 2014. Carson with our carpooling buddies, Kennan and Carlos (both a grade older than him). Carson with his teacher, Mrs. Guyer, one of the kindest people alive. Best Kinder buddy, Chris. We are so sad that they've moved and won't be at Scobee next year! For Carson's end-of-the-year party, all the Kinder classes had a dance party. The principal, Mr. Tatsch, does the too-tee-ta dance. Another good friend, Neo. Everett on his last day of Pre-K. Everett's class had an ice cream party. First, ...

Monday, June 22, 2015. We had a yard sale. I don't think it was worth the time, but the kids love doing them! They especially love making and selling cookies. We got to babysit a sweet little newborn for an evening. We had so much fun playing with her and snuggling her. The boys stayed up that night and we just about finished The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Grandmama and Pappy came for a much anticipated visit! My mom came with us to get produce for our group. They were only a few minutes into the...
