Captivated: August 2011
http://kristinabirkhead.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 1, 2011. It's Been A While. It's been quite a while since I last blogged. I wish that I could put in to writing the emotions I have felt lately. I have had good feelings and sad feelings, angry feelings and everything in between. I'm going to try to recap the summer, but mostly through pictures since that is less boring :). I finally got reunited with the Tripod! A few days after I got home, my cousins, aunt, uncle, and grandma came for a Nashville visit! I met a famous guy. I've been appl...

The Newly Wades: Furry Humans
http://ashleyandjoshwade.blogspot.com/p/furry-humans.html
Meet the little ankle biters. I write about these little boogers often because I am not a baby momma. just a dog momma. We love these little guys so much. They are very entertaining to say the least, and am sure they could arguably be some of the most spoiled pooches around. Bailey Wade Oswald Copperpot. Both of the jewels were pound puppies. We got Bailey when she was just a babe, and adopted Oswald as an adult just a year ago. Woo hoo for pound pupps! There are so many that just need a home.

Captivated: March 2012
http://kristinabirkhead.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 26, 2012. This weekend was one of the most relaxed weekends I have had in a really long time. I had absolutely no plans, and was totally ok with it. Friday after work, I called my mom to see if she wanted to go to dinner. My dad was still in town, so she was cooking steak. I don't really eat much red meat, but I had no food at my house and didn't want to go to the store. I promptly drove to Brentwood to enjoy her home cooking. We played outside for at least 2 hours. She loved playing wi...

This is a recent picture of Mel-loo-loo. She looks so cute with her hair smoothed down! This is three days after she was abandon!

Captivated: December 2011
http://kristinabirkhead.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 17, 2011. Semester One of Graduate School. Since I've been on such a hiatus, I'm going to start from the most recent things and try to work my way back. My second class was called planning, instruction, and assessment. That is pretty self-explanatory. I wrote lots of lesson plans and learned a whole lot about assessing how students learned. I have gained so much knowledge, and I'm happy to report that I am a lesson plan writing fool! Well, this girl does! I start taking some refresher ...

Captivated: Happy Birthday Niece-y Boo!
http://kristinabirkhead.blogspot.com/2012/03/happy-birthday-niece-y-boo.html
Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Happy Birthday Niece-y Boo! Last Thursday, my niece turned 1! Now, most of you know that I'm not a huge fan of babies (except Melissa. Of course), but I'm quite a big fan of my niece. I missed the first three months of her life, so she is just now getting used to seeing me, and she'll sometimes even come to me! At first, she would cry if I even looked at her. Now, I think she's starting to like me! She WILL be a Vols fan! She will never have enough tutu's. We were both feeling ...

Captivated: A Longing Heart
http://kristinabirkhead.blogspot.com/2012/03/longing-heart.html
Friday, March 23, 2012. Sometimes I forget how much I miss living in Haiti until I start talking to someone who has never heard me say anything about it. I started a new Bible study on Wednesday night with Hope Fellowship Church. We are reading the book The Story with the "mid-20s to mid-30s" group. I was extremely hesitant to commit to it, but one of the girls talked me in to it. My excuse for so long was I'M NOT MID-20S! She assured me that it was ok for me to be younger so I hopped on board. After the...

Captivated: Google Translate is Saving My Life
http://kristinabirkhead.blogspot.com/2011/01/google-translate-is-saving-my-life.html
Sunday, January 9, 2011. Google Translate is Saving My Life. My head and my heart are so full right now. Pardon me if this post is a bit all over the place, but I really need to express what is going on right now. I know Haiti is hard. My last four months here helped me learn that, but now I feel as if I am in a place that I can't even begin to explain. But I want to try. I know that when I make it through this, God is going to get so much glory. January 12, 2011 at 9:15 AM. Port au Prince, Haiti. Lindse...
