The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life... (by Jenny)
Tuesdays with Jenny | Just Jenny
https://jennyrcummings.wordpress.com/2013/10/08/tuesdays-with-jenny
The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…. I used to really like Tuesdays. Tuesdays in my former life (in Amarillo) were many things…a crazy, hectic, free lunch for 75 people (but always really fun), usually a trip to sonic, and then in the evening…Taco Tuesdays with Tiffany Smith. Now Tuesdays are painful. Sometimes literally. And then…a break of a Tuesday. I used that Tuesday to get lost on my way to a meeting with my ‘head honcho’ boss. Then tonight for dinner…I took a bite…and...You are c...
Desperate times…Desperate Measures | Just Jenny
https://jennyrcummings.wordpress.com/2013/08/17/desperate-times-desperate-measures
The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…. Desperate times…Desperate Measures. In a desperate attempt to make friends, I have done something rash and incomprehensible. I have signed on to join a volleyball team. 8216;C’ for Cummings! Of course I wouldn’t have made it.) A few weeks later, it hit me: I didn’t care that I didn’t make it…I HATED VOLLEYBALL. And it never was a problem in my life again! No one wanted me on their team, but hey, it was all just for fun! And probably an ice pack.).
The First Day of School! | Just Jenny
https://jennyrcummings.wordpress.com/2013/09/02/the-first-day-of-school
The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…. The First Day of School! Last week marked another ‘First Day of School’ for me. I don’t think that there has ever been a year of my life in which the Fall did not include a first day of school! How weird…I’ve either been in or worked at a school every fall since I was a kid. wierd. And oddly enough, I did the same thing 2 more times in college. (But there were three good years, ok? I’m at gate B19.”. 8221; I said. “I’ll be right there! You are commen...
Debt free is the way to be! (But not yet for me…) | Just Jenny
https://jennyrcummings.wordpress.com/2013/09/24/566
The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…. Debt free is the way to be! But not yet for me…). Why is life so expensive? The last two Tuesdays I have found myself waking up early, driving to the Jeep dealership, dropping off my Jeep (two different ones), and then walking back home. Yes, they do offer rides….but since it is pretty close to my apartment, I walk! And it wakes me up! But the answer is no, Dave Ramsey. I’m not ready for an emergency. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. The Day I went to Tap | Just Jenny
https://jennyrcummings.wordpress.com/2013/09/09/the-day-i-went-to-tap
The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…. The Day I went to Tap. Last week, I finally went to my first tap class. My experience with tap is pretty limited. I took it for about 5 minutes as a kid…but I wanted to quit because My cousin Jeri was far more fun to play with instead of dancing in tights. Then in college I took two semesters of it. It was so fun…and I was in love with it. When a lady looked at me and said “Soccer? So, imagine my excitement when I found a class in Amarillo! 8221; And...

Miller Mileage: November 2013
http://kristenmiller10.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 28, 2013. Mourning Turned to Songs of Praise. That our baby is dancing. To songs of praise at the foot of the Lord's throne! Do I pray for God's will, and what if that means death? Did I cause this? How do I live by faith in these moments and the moments ahead? When will I know? But Lord, if you are calling this baby home to be with you, I trust you. It is not my choice, but yours. I trust you. How could I even pray a prayer like this? Was I just giving up? Our answer came only a few h...
Miller Mileage: First Love
http://kristenmiller10.blogspot.com/2013/02/first-love.html
Thursday, February 14, 2013. For me, it was a little different, because my first real Valentine's came after Chris and I were engaged. Don't get me wrong, I have loved every Valentines I have spent with him as he has made me feel cherished, loved, blessed! Additionally, my Dad and Mom always made the day special, from homemade heart shaped cookies to special nights of dinner and movies. On Valentine's Day in my past, I have never doubted that I am loved by someone. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Miller Mileage: Moriah's Arrival
http://kristenmiller10.blogspot.com/2012/10/moriahs-arrival.html
Wednesday, October 10, 2012. It's funny how movies tend to influence one's idea of how something should happen. In this case, particularly Father of the Bride II. The next hour and a half were pretty intense, and to make a long story short, when Moriah came out rather than the special moment I envisioned, Moriah was quickly wisked away to the NICU. God is good and answers prayer. It meant so much to my mom to be there for the birth.and I went into labor only 2 1/2 hours after she arrived! Moriah has brou...

Wednesday, December 5, 2012. Making Miles that Matter. Letting go.these two simple words describe past eight months of our journey. There are a lot of other words I could use such as crazy, bittersweet, busy, challenging, faith-based. But, the reality is, looking back, it really has been a journey of faith and surrender. I look back at my years in Texas with great JOY! Joy to realize that the tears came from a deep love and care for the ones we were asked to let go! CRAZYin our life was defined as having...

Miller Mileage: Fighting Fear
http://kristenmiller10.blogspot.com/2013/07/fighting-fear.html
Wednesday, July 3, 2013. A few Sundays ago, Chris talked about being completely surrendered to Christ in such a way that you allow Him to live through you rather than trying to make it on your own. I've experienced this in many ways, but one area I must surrender often is fear. I remember as a young girl praying in my bed at night asking Jesus to take away my dreams and keep me from being afraid. Back then, it was simple! Why should I not fear when I know the darkness of the world? What an awesome gift -...

Miller Mileage: Slowing Down in Motherhood
http://kristenmiller10.blogspot.com/2015/05/slowing-down-in-motherhood.html
Tuesday, May 5, 2015. Slowing Down in Motherhood. For example, when we began to potty train our 2 year old, I was given a ton of advice about how to make it the best possible experience that would have her using the potty within a week (or even a day) without accidents. I truly am thankful for the advice, however, as we began the process, I learned a few lessons along the way. Note: Only a member of this blog may post a comment. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Just Jenny | The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…
The sometimes serious, mostly funny, side of my life…. Deck the Halls…. But why does it feel late? Because I grew up in a home where my mom made Christmas come early. Every year. We started listening to “The Carpenters” Christmas album early. She also (still does) started buying stocking stuffers and presents as early as Spring. Dad: “Ok, this one says ‘Christmas pot holders’.”. Mom: “Um…no. Leave that one.”. Dad: “Ok, this one says ‘Nativity’.”. Mom: “Yes, that one! We need that.”. Why I miss Jessica Ray.

Jenny Reads a Tale. A record of cute books I've found with my children that you might enjoy reading with yours, too. Happy reading! Wednesday, December 12, 2012. The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything (Author: Linda Williams / Illustrator: Megan Lloyd). Here is the other Halloween/Fall book I forgot to post about. Even though it is December, it is still technically Fall, so I had to hurry and get this one on here! Whatever will she do with them? This is a FANTASTIC read aloud story! A fun cas...
