Korean ELT Twitter Network. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. KELTChat Sunday 29th May 2016: Careers in ELT (8pm KST). May 23, 2016. ELT has a job market that is perhaps in flux more than other industries. Different areas become ‘hot’ areas to teach in and then cool down. It makes sense then that English language teachers frequently have their minds on their careers and their careers on their minds. What changes in the job market have you seen in your time as a teacher? About a letter o...

sometimes i need a turtle: outside influences post | livinglearning

https://lizzieserene.wordpress.com/2015/03/15/sometimes-i-need-a-turtle-outside-influences-post

Life and learning in South Korea. Sometimes i need a turtle: outside influences post. I wanted to write this post because I love the idea of celebrating the people who have guided me in my life towards where I am today and taught me – in their own ways and by their own examples – lessons that have stuck with me. The hardest part is deciding who to write about. She taught me that reading goals are just numbers, but books deserve my time and love. Even though he wasn’t one of my teachers. This turtle is br...

Life and learning in South Korea. When they’re just not feeling it (a thing that happened today). Photo by Emiichann. Taken from wikicommons: https:/ commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Hand whit I%27m bored.jpg. It’s the midsummer heat. The air conditioner is only just keeping up. It’s summer vacation from school. But not from academy. It’s the last five minutes of their last class before dinner time. It’s routine that has long since lost its novelty. 8220;Repeat the reading after the cd.”. They grin a bit.

Life and learning in South Korea. A month of ‘Things That Happened Today’ – a cup of milk. Every month the Daegu Reflective Practice Group makes reflective goals for the month. And nearly every month, I fail to complete mine (or even remember what it was most of the time). Last month, we all committed to bring an incident to reflect on so there would be plenty of material for the workshop (which is tomorrow and is being facilitated by a guest: Mr. Bryan Hale. S March reflective goals. cc @AnneHendler.

how can i help you remember? (a snapshot) | livinglearning

Life and learning in South Korea. How can i help you remember? Here is a thing that happened today:. I have a few middle school classes that only meet once a week. In one of the classes, the students almost never do their homework at home. They find themselves doing it or trying to do it frantically in the first five minutes of class. The result is a waste of time, terrible quality, and incomplete work. And of course an angry teacher. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Sometimes i need a tu...

Jennifer teaches and knits- but not simultaneously. Thursday, September 15, 2011. Is anyone (still) out there? It's been a while since I've posted. So long, in fact, that I decided to start a whole new blog. There's an Evil Jenniferteacher out there (not to be confused with Evil Jen), so I couldn't just move over here. Note: Actual evilness unproven. Mostly she just has my name.). I've just gotten back from my summer holidays, and, unlike my most recent post promising holiday highlights and photos, these...

Monday, June 4, 2007. Evidence Based Posting 6/4/07. After reading the article Craig sent us on the new Microsoft surface I was really intrigued and interested in finding out more. Surface looks like a black coffee table and does not use a keyboard or mouse. It is truly unlike anything I or perhaps most people have ever seen before. People can work individually or collectively work using Surface. You use touch to navigate and move documents etc. Microsoft Surface homepage, 5 May, 2007,. 2 June, 2007).
