The art of brian ching. A collection of sketches, doodles, and other visual gibberish. Monday, July 18, 2005. This is just a quick run though of the process. Here'. S a larger pic. 1) Sometimes the hardest part of the job. I draw these at about 3x5 inches, usually a series of quick roughs (maybe 30-45 seconds on each one) just to get an overall idea of character placement and design. It's a matter of trusting your instincts and throwing ideas down quickly and trying to sort throough it all later. 4) This...

The art of brian ching. A collection of sketches, doodles, and other visual gibberish. Thursday, June 23, 2005. This cake was something I ran across today and thought it was the coolest thing I have seen in a long time. Someone went to great lengths to make this. I had a hard enough time drawing these things in Obsession and here it is, someone had to design, bake, and frost it. Kudos to them. Check out the article at Rebelscum. It can be challenging to come up with cover compositions that take up only 2/3 of the page but at the same time I'm sure there are people who only pick up the comic because they see the SW logo. Wednesday, July 1, 2009. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs! Haven't posted lately because I've been super busy but I couldn't let today pass without posting something about the first movie I was fortunate enough to work on, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs! It's released nationwide today and I am super excited! I know I may be biased but I think it's the best of the 3. So in honor of this day I did a rough warm up sketch of Sid the sloth! Go out and see Ice Age 3! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Jelly of the Month.

Art of Michael Borkowski: February 2009
http://boydmonkey.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 8, 2009. Here's another 10 minute Jelly. Can't do Hulk without Wolvie. I loved the Hulk vs. Wolverine DVD which I am sure inspired both of these. Of course, I did the brown costume Wolvie, as that is what he was wearing when I got into comics. This month's topic at Jelly of the Month is "10 Minutes". We have exactly ten minutes to draw whatever we want. I was feeling pretty frustrated so I drew the Hulk. Thursday, February 5, 2009. Just a Quick Monarch Sketch. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
