Sunday, 29 December 2013. Jennifer's Hierarchy of Fears. It’s the wrong colour. It’s too tight. It makes me look fat. I look fat in everything anyway. It’s too young for me. I look ridiculous in it. Everyone is laughing at me. I can’t show my face in public again. My mouth is dry. I can feel my heartbeat accelerating. My knees are giving way. I’m losing control. I’m useless and a total waste of space. While I’m actually writing down the Hierarchy of Fears. Clarissa will be pleased with me. 8216;Will-powe...

Sunday, 8 September 2013. A slightly soppy romance written for Woman magazine, published in 2004). I knew Allen wouldn’t approve. And I was right. 8216;What do you want with a nose job? 8217; he asks. 8216;There’s nothing wrong with your nose.’. 8216;I hate my nose,’ I tell him, miserably. 8216;You’d be better off spending your money on a holiday,’ he says. 8216;It’s different. It’s a car. 8216;It’s the same. You could get a good car for half the price.’. 8216;D’you like it when people stare? 8216;I̵...

POETS TO GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS: January 2014
http://goosebump-poetry.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
POETS TO GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS. Wednesday, 8 January 2014. The Way Throught the Woods by Rudyard Kipling. I adore this poem by Rudyard Kipling. When Kipling wrote it he wouldn't have guessed the awful change in our natural environment. It's ironic that his complaint about the road disappearing has now turned itself around. Now we complain because the roads are key, and the precious countryside is disappearing. And wildlife is diminishing so much. When I was a kid sparrows were the most common town birds.

POETS TO GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS: Poetry that Passes All Understanding

POETS TO GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS. Wednesday, 5 February 2014. Poetry that Passes All Understanding. Ezra Pound: Photograph by Alvin Langdon Coburn. This is what James I is claimed to have said about John Donne. It was recorded by Archdeacon Plume:. Dr Donne's verses are like the peace of God; they pass all understanding.". I often wonder if that's fair. Great store is set by how accessible poetry is - the question always being, "accessible to whom? Why should these works be beyond my reach? 8212; Ezra Pound.

POETS TO GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS: List
http://goosebump-poetry.blogspot.com/2014/03/list.html
POETS TO GIVE YOU GOOSEBUMPS. Sunday, 2 March 2014. I like the sound. When soft winds play pizzicato on wing feathers. Of swans in flight. I like the songs. Of sunset when starlings audition. I like the sight. Of sanderlings prospecting in the shallows. Like grouchy old men. I like the fresh smell. Of a new day,- the taste of sea spray. And of you on my tongue.
