A Slightly Angry Canadian: Yesterday's Rebels are Nowhere to be Found
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2014/07/yesterdays-rebels-are-nowhere-to-be.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Monday, July 14, 2014. Yesterday's Rebels are Nowhere to be Found. Megadeth is playing Casino Rama. I heard this news on the car radio the other day, and I nearly drove off the road. I did a double take, followed by a double swerve. I really hadn't expected to ever hear something like that. Weren't these yesterday's rebels? Weren't these a group of antiestablishment types? Is a little closer than it might be elsewhere. Yesterday's rebels are nowhere to be found. What do you do ...

A Slightly Angry Canadian: January 2013
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Saturday, January 12, 2013. You are a cruel one. This time, perhaps, you have gone too far. Today, I awoke to an incredibly warm and sunny day. Sunny is not unusual, but to be so warm in January only gives us pause to consider. I heard some people blame this on global warming. Ah, if only it were that simple. If only I could find some scientific theory that really accounts for it. No my friends, this is Mother Nature playing with us. Oh Mother Nature, why? So, a deal is done.

A Slightly Angry Canadian: December 2012
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Wednesday, December 26, 2012. I have been reading a lot about guns. After the tragedy, this is unavoidable. I have read many arguments for and against gun control, and I firmly side with control. If you're against gun control, there is probably nothing I am going to do to change your mind, but I have to do something. I really only want to tackle one argument that I keep hearing. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. I have read that in many forms throughout this debate.

A Slightly Angry Canadian: GET ON THE ROAD
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2014/06/get-on-road.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Sunday, June 22, 2014. GET ON THE ROAD. What is it with people riding their bikes on the sidewalk? Does this bother anyone other than me? Do you people actually think it is safer? I've got news for you, it isn't. Let's take a step back before the ranting will really continue. I know, kids on tricycles shouldn't be on the road. I am not suggesting endangering the lives of children. I could explain the law to people, but that wouldn't be right. Well see how that turns out. When w...

Unlikely Pairings: Joan Didion & Tim Howard | BROOKLINDSAY
https://brooklindsay.wordpress.com/2014/07/03/unlikely-pairings-joan-didion-tim-howard
Literary Dispatches from Brooklyn. Unlikely Pairings: Joan Didion and Tim Howard. Posted on July 3, 2014. In the opening line of her seminal essay,. The vintage classic essayist Joan Didion drops the following truth bomb: We tell ourselves stories in order to live. It’s a line that pops into my mind and rolls itself around on my tongue every so often, and lately, more often than not. Like a fortune cookie you crack open and hold onto the omen inside long after you’ve finished your takeout. I clung to Did...

A Slightly Angry Canadian: The Next Big Idea with the TTC
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2014/07/the-next-big-idea-with-ttc.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Saturday, July 12, 2014. The Next Big Idea with the TTC. So, the TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) wants to subsidized transit passes to low income users. Additionally, they don't want to raise prices for typical (non subsidized) passengers. In theory this sounds good. However, I have a few concerns. If the same people who are in charge of handing out the disabled parking stickers are in charge of this, there will likely be a lot of fraud involved in this. I can't disagree more.

A Slightly Angry Canadian: October 2012
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Sunday, October 28, 2012. Shrinking Food, Unaware Customers. When people from my generation talk, occasionally, they remark that something seems smaller than when they were young. The typical place this comment is aimed is at Wagon Wheels. Everyone remembers when they were gigantic, and today they seem really small. Now coke comes in an 18 pack. 18 is a far cry from the two dozen that I expect coke to come in. I also remember buying a 600mL coke, but now it is only 591mL. These...

A Slightly Angry Canadian: September 2012
http://aslightlyangrycanadian.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
A Slightly Angry Canadian. Sunday, September 30, 2012. Every time I go to the supermarket I have to deal with the whole cart issue. Some stores want you to deposit money for the cart, thereby ensuring that you'll bring it back. I used to live near a store where more than a few people took the carts home, or at least to the. It certainly cost the store money to go out and round up these carts (imagine the advertisement for this job in the paper- wanted:. They say you can easily get change from cashier, bu...
