Sun, Mar. 4th, 2007, 03:19 am. Just got back from a little onsen / ryokan (spa and traditional inn) in Aomori. It was way cool. Here's some pics! Canada POWER in the backseat! Me, Mel and Shawn in the car on the way to Aomori. Electricity was only very recently added to this rustic ryokan, so oil lamps light most of the areas. We had a whole cabin to ourselves (11 people)! Me, me and Hazel wearing Yukata. 1 of 4(! A slightly blurry picture of an oil lamp. Read the English on that sign verrrry carefully.

So, about 2:00 I was contemplating escaping when Aya (my co-worker) came up and asked me if I wanted to learn how to make a local food with the home economics teacher. This dessert/sweet thing is actually not so bad for you, as it turns out. What you need:. Dried edamame (soy beans, the green ones) soaked over night. Sorry, no real amounts here). Then put the beans in a food processor to chop them up a bit.

Mon, Nov. 20th, 2006, 08:11 am. Been gone for a week! Out and about, I was. This week was our JET mid-year conference in Hanamaki. I left for Mel's on Tuesday night; I spent the night there so I could be her bitch and straighten her hair for her the next morning. Wed, we drove to Hanamaki together and the fun began! Of course, there were the obligatory boring seminars and all, but I had a good time aside from those ;). Wednesday night my quiz team WON and kicked Mel's team's ass!

Tue, Oct. 10th, 2006, 11:28 am. Getting serious about this running thing - I even got my ass out of bed at 5am today to go for a 40 minute run. It was coooold! I was thisclose to staying in bed, since it was still dark and all, but I rolled on outta bed and into my running shoes. All in all, I think I went about 6kms (according to the map program www.mapmyrun.com). Felt good! Think I'll do it again tomorrow!

My team looked dismayed when I answered there question "When are you coming back to Korea? He shoots, he scores. It is really good. Basically spicy chicken, vegetables, and precooked rice cake stuff.
