Group blog for the Humanities Program, a chronological approach to Western history, literature and philosophy. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Some things are harder to explain at a child-friendly level than others. Explaining how Helen came to be the daughter of Zeus may be at the harder end of the scale. Though there's also always the tradition that Helen was the daughter of Zeus and Nemesis, and that her egg was then given to Leda who raised her as her own. Friday, May 25, 2007. Group blog for the Humanities Program, a chronological approach to Western history, literature and philosophy. Thursday, June 21, 2007. Classical Languages: When and Why? It seems a generally agreed-upon tenet in certain circles that teaching your children Latin (and possibly Greek as well) is a Good Idea. This fits pretty well with my own inclinations, having been a Classics major and being fairly pleased with my time studying Greek and Latin. Some writers don't seem too worried about this because their...

Group blog for the Humanities Program, a chronological approach to Western history, literature and philosophy. Thursday, September 18, 2008. Finally, A Pyramid. I've had the story about the Great Pyramid. Anyway. This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:. I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.). 8230;or something like this:.
