Natalie and I got back at midnight last night from an awesome week in sunny Georgia! Our ultimate team placed 17th out of 34 at Georgia Southerns and 7th our of 31 at the Chicago Invite. We got some canoeing in too! Our rental home in Dahlonega, GA was well equipped with a pet goat, hiking trails, private lake and canoe!

Oh My Word, we had such a great time. 42 women, 2 teams, One Spirit. We hit the parade grounds all gussied up for a royal wedding as Princess Kate IS a Dragon Boater you know! We won the "Best in Parade" honors and this time we got a prize!

In 1930, two brave young men paddled from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay and documented their odyssey in the book Canoeing With the Cree. For the 75th anniversary of this historic adventure, two men canoed the same route in 2005, followed by two other men in 2008. Ann Raiho and Natalie Warren became the first two women to canoe this route. Encourage young women to go on their own adventures.

Natalie and Ann met through YMCA Camp Menogyn in 2007. They went on the same seven week trip on the Kazan and Kunwak Inuit heritage rivers of Nunavut, Canada, ending in Baker Lake. After this monumental trip, both Natalie and Ann attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.
