I should start this post by saying that I think I'm returning to blogging (as opposed to trying to come up with something to say on Facebook) for the same reason that I left Facebook the first time. I just don't know the audience and I'm far to loquacious to say what I mean in so few characters. Monday, August 13, 2012. We have just moved (well, it's been almost a month now) from Muskogee to Tulsa and are still doing a lot to make our new house our home. The interior paint is done, most of the unpacking is done, the security system is installed, the exterminator is set up, the guttering is repaired, the A/C has been serviced . . . you get it. But today we broke ground on the new outbuilding. This one is 100 sq. ft., but we've decluttered enough that it will meet our needs well! Links to this post.

Pacifier Duty: Ezra

Friday, August 10, 2012. In the last week I read the book of Ezra again. To refresh your memory of the book, Ezra is the man who returned with the exiled Jews to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem when the king(s) of Babylon commanded/okayed that it be done. That is hardly a scholarly recap of the book, but this is hardly a scholarly post. Now the challenge for me is to live this boldly. But somehow I think that if I draw as near to God as Ezra, if I love Him the way that he did, that won't be a problem.

Thursday, November 17, 2011. I'm sitting here watching Will color and encouraging him to stay in the lines. It reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend at work seven or eight years ago. She came to my desk in a huff and said, "I just had a conference with my son's kindergarten teacher. She said he needs improvement in coloring because he won't stay in the lines.
