Painting the Town Pink. Tuesday, November 8, 2011. Well, isn't this just lovely? A few excerpts from the Modern Love column "When the Words Don't Fit" are below, but really, you'll want to just go ahead and read the whole thing. I promise it will leave your heart smiling. When the Words Don't Fit. So, I suppose that’s the point: Love chooses us. And that’s love. Big, epic, fairy-tale love. The kind of love people write about. The kind of love that could inspire a poem. Labels: L.O.V.E. This is so sweet&#...

Painting the Town Pink: November 2010
http://paintingthetownpink.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Painting the Town Pink. Wednesday, November 24, 2010. The Beginning of the End. Among the most highly anticipated events that occurred over my aforementioned bloggy hiatus has to be something that I've been waiting about 11 years for - ever since I finally gave in to my Grandmom's persistence and begrudgingly opened the cover of a "silly children's book" one summer at Bethany Beach - the beginning of the end. Yep, that's right: The first installment of the last movie in the Harry Potter. Sure, some puris...

TSA agent: what is your name? Internal response: you're so good at your job. if i had a fake ID right now, you would have figured it out. there's no way i would have memorized the name on a fake ID. you're very smart and strong. superior to me in every way. i cower before you. From this side of the viewfinder: December 2010
http://newimpatienceofjobe.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
From this side of the viewfinder. Thoughts from the heart and mind of a Southern writer. Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Shooting star offers sign of hope, peace. I wrote this several years ago in my other life as one of my weekly Impatience of Jobe columns for the Daily Corinthian. While looking for a copy of another column I wrote, I stumbled upon it tonight and thought how timely it was for how I was feeling. So I opted to share it here and as a note on my Facebook page. Everything is really gonna be OK.

From this side of the viewfinder. Thoughts from the heart and mind of a Southern writer. Sunday, September 11, 2011. Reflections on 9/11/01 on 9/11/11. This was the Impatience of Jobe that I wrote for the first anniversary of 9/11. On TV, I saw a split screen view of smoke billowing out of one of the towers at the World Trade Center and smoke rising from the Pentagon. I recognized both structures immediately and, without knowing details, I knew that whatever happened was horrendous and affected us all.

The description of our days]. Don't count the days. make the days count. All the days ordained for us were written in his book before one of them came to be. Sunday, January 22, 2012. It's All a Part of Me and that's Who I Am. If you know country music, you will recognize the title of this blog as a line from the country song, "Who I am" sang by Jessica Andrews. Well, I guess I do. Maybe as you read this blog you will understand more about why I would process this post for this long. Mau is a part of the...
