The Grinning Sheep Blog by Kathy of Briarwood Folk Art: Hooking, hooking wherefore art thou?

Sunday, December 21, 2014. Hooking, hooking wherefore art thou? This fun picture of Daisy on a rug in progress was sent to me by Lori in New York. It pretty much sums up my relationship with hooking lately: it's still close to my heart but I haven't felt motivated to be creative and I'd rather just lie around. What a gift I had all these years and will continue to have in my memories of her. Posted by The Grinning Sheep. Can You See Me? Follow the Sheep by Email. Click on Izzy Mae for my website! The Grinning Sheep Blog by Kathy of Briarwood Folk Art: A Wilted Yellow Rose
http://thegrinningsheep.blogspot.com/2015/02/a-wilted-yellow-rose.html
Thursday, February 12, 2015. A Wilted Yellow Rose. Oh, so sad, so very sad to report the reality that the Yellow Rose Rug Camp held in Belton TX appears to be a total goner. This is a real loss for a camp that was a great success from 2008 until this year. Just two days ago I received an email from one of my students asking why she hadn't heard from me to discuss her project with camp only a few weeks away? On to a POSITIVE note from Texas:. Charlotte from TX sent me this picture of her completed "Puttin...

Designer of Rug Hooking Patterns. December 10, 2015 by offthehookwoolrugs. Hooked from a painting by ANN WILLEY within a contract between us. I’m selling the pattern on my web site. Believe me, her work is delightful to hook. And I am so enjoying working with her on this project. I have about a dozen to go! I do one of my own designs, then hers. Fun, fun, fun. Saundra of Woodland Junction: Just a Wee Bit More to Go
http://woodlandjunction.blogspot.com/2015/08/just-wee-bit-more-to-go.html
Domestic Zoo was originally hooked in the 1800's. Some credit Magdalena Briner Eby for the design and some question that. Regardless, it is a beautiful piece of folk art. I tried to replicate how it was hooked using what I had. If you are interested in purchasing the pattern, click the web site link. Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Just a Wee Bit More to Go. The Rugged Moose: Bed, Bed, Oh Heavenly Bed.....
http://theruggedmoose.blogspot.com/2015/07/bed-bed-oh-heavenly-bed.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Bed, Bed, Oh Heavenly Bed. We knew that making the decision to paint every square inch of a three-story, four bedroom, four bathroom house meant a LOT of painting. But yesterday, I decided to start counting and listing everything that got painted or has to be painted and seriously - I can't count that high. I can't say enough good things about our painter. He is friendly, obsessive about the job he is doing, and the kind of person you feel good about having in your home. I wouldn't...
