Gumbitarian: March 2011
http://gumbitarian.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Random stuff that passes through my brain, but mostly thoughts about food. Friday, March 25, 2011. So, we had a visitor the last couple days. Nicholas' friends Nick and Doose were going to Arizona for Spring Training for a few days and we volunteered to babysit Nick's Australian Sheperd, Isley. Wikipedia describes the breed as "highly energetic." Wikipedia defines understatement. As "a form of speech which contains an expression of less strength than what would be expected.". http://gumbitarian.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Random stuff that passes through my brain, but mostly thoughts about food. Tuesday, April 26, 2011. I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We (Denise and I) took advantage of the long weekend (Good Friday is a Toro holiday) to drive up and visit Jacob on his birthday. It is a long damn drive from Temecula to Arcata and I don't mind sharing that with you. It is so long that we broke up the drive, going as far as Petaluma on Thursday evening and then finishing the drive Friday morning. At this point, I should...

Tuesday, August 30, 2011. 5: Little Italy's Mercato. Sunset Magazine recently hosted a "food fight" between Northern California and Southern California. (Check it out here.). Stoked. especially since I'm living in So Cal again.). Within a week of living here, I've noticed that the craft food and slow food movements Northern California sometimes claims as their own are also in full force here in San Diego. Two small examples 1.)- The Linkery. Which I also found out about through Sunset. Date Street wa...

Monday, May 16, 2011. 60: first harvest and more. Parsley. yum :). 13: Take Piano Lessons. I hate to admit, but my mother was right. I regret the decision I made to stop taking piano lessons when I was younger. I became so bored with the lessons, never got a chance to play songs that I really enjoyed, and dreaded. Stoked to be back and playing, until I found out we had a recital at the end of the semester. NOOOOOOOOO! And of course, it was totally worth it. Having to practice playing piano this past seme...
