Autumn's Blog: Triathlon Update
http://autumnabruner.blogspot.com/2011/03/triathlon-update.html
Saturday, March 5, 2011. I made a couple of significant milestones this week, training for my mini-tri. First, on Wednesday, for the first time ever, I swam 4 laps without stopping. That's the full 200 meters that I need for the tri. Exactly one month before the race. Hallelujah! Then, today, I did my own little mini-tri at the gym. 200-meter swim, 5-mile bike (on a stationary bike), and 1.5-mile run. It was very hard, but I did it! Anyway, one month to go, and I'm starting to get excited for it! Subscri...

Even the tiniest pebble can make a splash and send ripples in all directions! Thursday, December 30, 2010. An early Christmas for Marleah. Christmas came early to Marleah this year. This is her third year learning the harp, and she was struggling to find enough time to practice on the harp that finally made it to her middle school. There are no harps currently available to rent in Rochester, so we took a very deep breath and made the decision to get her one. Here's what she left for him. My dad made a ho...

Janstuff: What FAMILY means...
http://davis-janstuff.blogspot.com/2011/04/what-family-means.html
Even the tiniest pebble can make a splash and send ripples in all directions! Tuesday, April 19, 2011. The living room is coming along nicely. It just needed something to fill that giant gaping hole of an accent wall over the couch. Here's what I came up with. An old canvas from the basement, recycled wall and craft paint, an idea and a friend's projector was all it took, along with a few fine tipped brushes. What kind of words make up YOUR family? Oooh I love it! April 19, 2011 at 10:54 AM.

Christina's Blog: Some Thoughts...
http://cpettit.blogspot.com/2012/12/some-thoughts_20.html
Thursday, December 20, 2012. After the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the community of elementary school teachers was shaken up across the country. It was interesting, because no one asked "Would I have died for my kids? We didn't need to, because all of us knew that of course we would. I was student teaching when the shootings at Columbine occurred. I remember my sadness and sudden knowledge that this job was going to be different from what previous teachers had experienced. I'm not against p...

Christina's Blog: April 2009
http://cpettit.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Friday, April 24, 2009. My brother in law graduated from the Marriott school of business today. He is now an MBA. Which is great. But the actual commencement was a little depressing. I went directly from my class of fourth graders to the Marriott Center filled with people far more educated than me. In other words, within an hour and a half, I went from being the smartest person in the room to, well, not. That's an intimidating feeling. Only one thing could make these speeches more boring. We had a very r...

Even the tiniest pebble can make a splash and send ripples in all directions! Tuesday, November 30, 2010. A Sweet Season of Gratitude. This year the girls helped me make sugar cookies, and Lucy and I decorated them. These were fun little turkeys to bring to Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for mother-daughter time! Sunday, November 7, 2010. Corn Maze, 2010. We picked a lovely day to go explore a local corn maze. It was great fun, and we persevered until we did it all! Another fun fall memory. Not bad, eh?

Christina's Blog: February 2010
http://cpettit.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 8, 2010. Some girls dream of vampires. I dream of Kryptonians. I am a Superman geek. I admit it. I love Superman. Anyway you slice it, the man is hot. I used to wonder what the heck was wrong with Lois Lane, not seeing the total awesome-ness of Clark Kent. I would dream of finding someone just like him. Tall, dark, handsome, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound . . . But he's out there. I know he is. My superhero is waiting. Really, it could go either way. Turns out mom was fine...

Janstuff: A Little Color
http://davis-janstuff.blogspot.com/2011/11/little-color.html
Even the tiniest pebble can make a splash and send ripples in all directions! Monday, November 14, 2011. The girls have been asking for color in their hair for a while, so when I saw a blip on an early morning show about CHALKING at hair salons, I grabbed my own art supplies. Easy to do, washes out with the shampoo, and I think super inexpensive! Jill's light hair worked amazingly well. I love "crafting" with my girls! And being the "cool mom" while I'm at it is nice, too! View my complete profile.

Janstuff: A Letter to Mother Earth
http://davis-janstuff.blogspot.com/2011/04/letter-to-mother-earth.html
Even the tiniest pebble can make a splash and send ripples in all directions! Monday, April 4, 2011. A Letter to Mother Earth. Dear Mother Earth,. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I really am a fan- truly, I am. I love the outdoors, trees, plants, flowers, nature (mosquitos don't count, right? Don't take this personally, but I'm NOT a fan of. Sure, sure- they have their place- like on bike holders for long excursions,. Or in car cup holders for even longer car trips,. He he he he he! I'm a wife...
