The Hi-Desert Art Beat: June 2010
http://hwy62arttours.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Gourds and Mixed Media in 29 Palms. This week I got a glimpse into the studios of two artists from Twenty nine Palms - Cynthia Enfinger and Jacqueline Angove. Farm near Temecula. Enfinger likes that Wellburn Gourds are grown organically. She washes the gourds, lets them dry, and then begins transforming them. I got to see how she cuts the top of a gourd off, cleans out the inside, and begins smoothing the inside and top edge. Gourds waiting to be worked on. Links to this post.

Monday, April 12, 2010. It is with sadness that I write the news that one of our artists has passed away. Rick Unger recently lost a battle to liver cancer. Mr. Unger was a featured artist of the Art Tours in years past, and he will be sorely missed by the art community. To read his obituary in the Hi-Desert Star, click here. Thanks to Rik Livingstone for the art.). Art Tours Applications have been rolling in! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Hwy 62 Art Tours Program. 29 Palms Art Gallery.

Thursday, October 14, 2010. David and Lorelei Greene in Wonder Valley. As the Art Tours draw closer, I (Karine Swenson) am finding my time for interviews has vanished.
