http://adventuresisrael.blogspot.com/2010/08/settling-in.html
Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Caitlin posting this one). Sorry we haven't been updating this lately. July was a busy month of classes and tours with the Bat Kol program ( http:/ www.batkol.info/. Pictures to come soon! I really had no idea what I was going to do for the month. It was really a blessing to make new friends from all over the world and learn from great teachers and scholars. I have also been learning how to navigate the "Shuk" as it's known, or Mahane Yehuda outdoor market. And we're managing co...

Israel Adventures: Shalom!
http://adventuresisrael.blogspot.com/2010/06/shalom.html
Thursday, June 24, 2010. Our new adventure in Jerusalem has begun! We flew from Toronto to Tel Aviv with a stop over in Kiev, Ukraine. We hit our first snag in our journey with our first flight- it was delayed 2 hours. The problem with this delay was that our layover in Kiev was only scheduled for 2 hours! But thankfully our pilot made up a lot of time and we just made it in time for our connecting flight. June 24, 2010 at 4:08 AM. Caitlin. You were correct, I was just getting up. We had an earth...Inter...

Israel Adventures: Free Tour to the Mount of Olives
http://adventuresisrael.blogspot.com/2010/06/free-tour-to-mount-of-olives.html
Saturday, June 26, 2010. Free Tour to the Mount of Olives. Thanks to our friend, Marie, on our first trip to the Old City the tourist office printed out a list of free tours offered on Saturday. I assume the only reason they're free is because they occur on the Sabbath, so no form of transaction is allowed. Tuesday, June 29, 2010. We just got our keys to our apartment in Jerusalem today. This was an answer to our and many other peoples' prayers. We were blessed both with an apartment and in time before I start my summer (July) course next Monday. We prayed that we could get a place before Friday because here, as you may know, everything starts to shut down on Friday because Shabbat begin sundown Friday. Baruch Ha-Shem" is a Hebrew phrase meaning 'praise God' or more literally 'bless the LORD! Thanks to our ...

Israel Adventures: Our First 2 Days in Jerusalem
http://adventuresisrael.blogspot.com/2010/06/our-first-2-days-in-jerusalem.html
Friday, June 25, 2010. Our First 2 Days in Jerusalem. After we landed in Tel Aviv, we took a taxi van ( sheruts. In Hebrew) to Jerusalem. A sheruts. Is a large van that carries multiple passengers (about 12) with their luggage to their respective destinations. We were advised to take this because it is cheaper than a regular taxi and would allow us to see some of the rest of the city. It also allowed us the opportunity to see how crazy the driving is here! First Two Days in Jerusalem. Currency Exchange R...
