Food storage – Greening the Rose
https://greeningtherose.com/category/food-storage
Simple Home Year: Food preserving and storage a preserving calendar. June 14, 2016. June 13, 2016. Sally Wise taken by Veronica Youd. We grow sufficient leafy vegetables, tomatoes, herbs to supplement our purchases from markets and greengrocers. Space restrictions limit the amount of fruit we grow to some lemons, the occasional strawberry although we do have some new plants in. This year I am reading the delightful Sally Wise. 8216;s A Year on the Farm. And at My Green Australia. With what is happening l...

RIP – Greening the Rose
https://greeningtherose.com/2017/01/11/rip
January 11, 2017. It is with great sadness that I have to inform you that Rose passed away at 2am January 10th 2017. She had been fighting advanced breast cancer that had spread to her bones and lungs. The last few weeks were spent in great pain. Her palliative care team put her into a semi-coma some days ago to block out the pain She died peacefully with me at her side. Rose greatly enjoyed interacting with her blog friends and the “family” at Down to Earth Forum. Good Bye from Rose. My son is an artist...
Simple Home Year: Food preserving and storage — the freezer – Greening the Rose

Simple Home Year: Food preserving and storage — the freezer. June 7, 2016. June 6, 2016. Mentions the freezer in the June chapter of The Simple Home. As an ideal place to preserve abundance, maybe even stockpile and manage your food resources throughout the year. I think that in the past, many of us thought of the freezer only in terms of sides of meat or loaves of bread that may or may not have proved to be a saving. The important thing with the freezer is to have it serve. I’ve not yet introduced...

Little Home In The Country: It's Brown Season
http://littlehomeinthecountry.blogspot.com/2015/04/its-brown-season.html
Little Home In The Country. Saturday, 11 April 2015. Urgh, after a lovely holiday on the west coast where the grass is green and the flowers are blooming, we returned home to see the usual early Spring display of (depressing) brown. The vacation was great! I especially enjoyed haunting a few (very quaint) used book stores in Sidney and bought a beekeeping book for me and a book gift for a friend (I shall not divulge more in case my friend is reading here) XO. Little Home In The Country. Such a beautiful ...

A few mild days are very welcome at this time of year. What other song could I share today but Auld Lang Syne? She is singing Auld Lang Syne. Should auld acquaintance be forgot,.

Over the years, comments reveal readers to me bit by bit and every time a new comment comes, it adds more to my idea of who you are. Well, although you probably don't remember even writing it (or me writing you! I just wanted to drop you a line t...
