It is a wonderful surprise. The house will be too quiet when they leave again. I thought I would pop in here for a minute and let you know about my surprise. I will be back here tomorrow afternoon with the garden pictures and a longer post. Sleep tight, everyone. This entry was posted on May 18, 2014, in country living. Helpin...

You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever. We have had a very busy week here in the country. Harvested the romaine lettuce, still have some strawberries on the vine with blackberries soon to follow. There are 13 tomatoes, three zuchinni, and one cucumber on the way. Our glow in the dark rocks turned out very well. We are working on the flower pot now. That should look pretty at night as it glows. He and I also made a hot fudge pudding cake. yummy! Have a great weekend. In one of the pictures, you can se...

You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever. Good morning and welcome. This is what I make for one pint jar. and to make things easier, the food processer comes in handy. put all the items in the processer and pulse to get the style you like. The tomatoes have been coming a few at a time so I had to resort to making the salsa one jar at a time. Until next time,. Grandma in the country. Grandma Initiative
Monday, August 10, 2009. To read the story that led to this initiative, click here. I began this initiative to encourage everyone to donate blood. My family and I have been "deferred" due to possible exposure to. Donating blood holds a special place in my heart: my grandmother was able to live just a little bit longer because she was able to receive blood donated by fellow Canadians - strangers. I'm hoping to inspire at least two dozen donations of blood. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). During the day, I des...

You’re at the best WordPress.com site ever. Baked Chicken and Spinach Flautas. Here is the recipe that I was raving about yesterday. I found it on Pinterest. The website the recipe is on is called healthy-delicious.com. The recipe calls for four skinless, boneless chicken thighs. I used boneless and skinless breasts instead. I also left out the Jalapeno pepper. I used a whole bag of mozzarella cheese to make it more cheesier.I also used the chicken broth instead of the beer. 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt. Cut th...
Grandma in the Mailbox
October 3rd, 2012. Grandma in the Mailbox made its debut in January 2011. My goal was to share ideas for making times with grandchildren special for them and for the reader whether it be a grandma, a mother, or a friend. I hope that I have given some ideas and maybe some inspiration to others on making memories with their grandchildren. I have often said that I thought on those forms that ask your occupational status, there should be a box to check that said Grandparent. I have had many occupations f...

Living the good life
Saturday, October 16, 2010. Well, I am walking with crutches and driving now. It's great to be able to do things on my own. I even went to the grocery store today, although I didn't buy much. But I figured out how to get a few things on my own. You are the best daughters-in-law. So that meant I had to play with Hannah, Ella, and Randi. Darn! You know how much I hate that! Grandma in the middle. Wednesday, September 15, 2010. Which is a loss of mineral in the bone and could lead to osteoporosis but it is ...

Grandma is a Writer
Grandma is a Writer. Writing from this Grandma's perspective. Designed to share thoughts about writing, about life and to promote our book, Aloha is Forever. Click on the image to purchase. Wednesday, June 24, 2015. I woke up early today just like I did 38 years ago on the day John Cameron Reece was born. Today would have been his 38th birthday so I suppose if birthdays are counted in heaven, he is now 38. But I doubt that time matters there. Most likely. Would he have children? You ran the race that was...
