Sojourning the earth. waiting for a King. The season I met the Father. My understanding of God was that He was real, He was big, and He was up there somewhere watching out for me – He was the great Father. I talked to Father God a lot when I was a kid. But I didn’t really understand how Jesus was connected in all this. Experiencing the Holy Spirit. I’ve spent the last 4 years here in Cairo, living in this small impoverished, mostly African American community, learning. February 24, 2008 at 11:55 am.

Sojourning the earth. waiting for a King. Many have heard the phrase Jesus died for our sins . But what of it? Really, what does it mean? I had heard this typical church phrase growing up, but it took a while to actually get what it meant and why it had anything to do with me. One thing that really helped me was understanding the whole story – not just the part about Jesus, but God’s history in the world since the beginning and how He set the stage for what Jesus would do. The garden rocked, quite frankly.

Sojourning the earth. waiting for a King. Legacy: The Story Behind the Story. Last Saturday we had breakfast. I wondered if it were possible that he was getting younger. My Pa, nearing 90-years-old, was all smiles, loving on his waffle. We caught up on life, laughed. He joked about how restaurant syrup containers are dangerous because they will always get you gooey. What do I want to say? What do You want to say, Lord? What should be said at a time like this? When’d you get here, Papa? Sneaky, aren’t I?
