Running For The Wong Reason: Compressport Trail Running Shorts - Product Review
http://runningforthewongreason.blogspot.com/2015/06/compressport-trail-running-shorts.html
Sunday, June 14, 2015. Compressport Trail Running Shorts - Product Review. OK straight up. I wear these without underwear. I mean I tried them with, of course. But it was just uncomfortable like hell for my jewels I had to go commando. anyway more on fitting later! So the above is what Compressport is selling on their product description. I'm generally happy with the compression I'm getting (a quality product no doubt) and as always I'll just focus on the things I feel can be improved:. See how sad I look.

Running For The Wong Reason: February 2015
http://runningforthewongreason.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 16, 2015. Heel-Toe Drop - It Matters. Yes the whole heel-toe drop thing has landed on my door-step. Can't afford to ignore the topic given I have suffered two incidents of ankle sprains in the past 4 months. The last one I'm in the midst of nursing! I put the blame on my own ignorance and over-confidence in the strength of my ankles and joints which I had previously thought were indestructible. Turns out they weren't! So what is the perfect drop? Higher drop shoes (10mm ). Lower the leve...

Running For The Wong Reason: Karrimor Excel - Product Review
http://runningforthewongreason.blogspot.com/2014/06/karrimor-excel-product-review.html
Sunday, June 1, 2014. Karrimor Excel - Product Review. Here's a quick breakdown of the good and bad:. Here's the before-after the lace modification. as expected the shoe performed much better with normal laces. The wide heel base. great for downhill stability. The sole design and material is grippy in muddy conditions and cushiony - but is quick to wear and tear - see following pics. Here are some links for more info:. Running For The Wong Reason: Macedon 50k - Sweet Brutality..
http://runningforthewongreason.blogspot.com/2014/05/macedon-50k-sweet-brutality.html
Thursday, May 15, 2014. Macedon 50k - Sweet Brutality. It is hard to imagine it was just last Sunday I made that rather strained leap across the finish line, hammies hammered and fingers frozen, but with such sweet elation. :) I have my wife to thank for these memorable finishing shots, completing the Macedon 50k felt absolutely. It felt like I've tied up some loose ends from Buffalo and reinstated that important feeling of completion. Anyway. Let's jump into the race recap. Overall the first 30k was sti...

Running For The Wong Reason: December 2013

Sunday, December 22, 2013. Hoka One One - Rapa Nui Trail Shoes Review. I've subjected my poor new Rapas to 2 gruelling technical runs to date. might have been a bit too technical for what the Rapas are optimised for as it has already suffered some terrible battle scars. Rapas vs Lerderderg. bring it on. What I'm crazy about:. 1) Well. what else. the massive cushioning. :). Big bad cushioning. nice and wide. 2) Weight = 275g (UK 8). For almost a year now, the Rapas were a very nice change. However Rap...

I feel all the good vibes again looking at this picture :) Positivity, pride, happiness, and a real sense of achievement. I'm extremely glad I could relinquish the demons from last year (though to be honest its long faded its not like I have nightmares every night! Just make good a promise I made to myself a year ago. Or maybe I was just ridiculously over caffeinated! And Gr...

Running For The Wong Reason: April 2014
http://runningforthewongreason.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 10, 2014. Buffalo Stampede Ultra Sky Marathon 2014 - Gored and Gutted. My first ever DNF. and boy it sure sucks! It's hard not to be :) Mentally I was ready. But physically I couldn't deliver. Nutrition planning was torn to shreds by the Buffalo. in short, I was out of my league in the 75k event that day. Am I proud though? Too true. I love rain. I love mud. I would've relished the experience doing them in the dark too! I wasn't afraid of the challenge ahead. I was simply exhausted. Felt ...
