Conny's Corner: Recipe to try: Serbian Rice Meat
http://connys-corner.blogspot.com/2012/04/recipe-to-try-serbian-rice-meat.html
Recipe to try: Serbian Rice Meat. Ok, so this is my favourite food of all times! My grandma's famous Serbian Rice Meat. We call it Serbisch-Reisfleisch in German which I think sounds nicer, nut the thing is, I've never met anyone who has tried it and not liked it! Here's what you need:. 500g mince beef (I used lean beef mince). 2 cups of long grain rice. 1 cup of water with 2 cubes of beef stock. 1 1/2 cups of water. 1 tube of tomato puree. Here's how you do it:. Instead of just beef mince, you can also ...

Conny's Corner: December 2009
http://connys-corner.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
The year 2009 is almost over and it's this day of the year when you sit down and think about everything you want to do and achieve in 2010. Chances are that somewhere on that list there are the well-known points of doing more sports and losing some weight. My own list includes graduating from university, finding a job and, most of all, moving in with my boyfriend. By the time we can actually move in together, we will have been talking about it for over a year! Thursday, December 31, 2009. At home in Germ...

Going freelance to get work experience. Here's the thing: I have recently applied for a job with the local weekly paper. And although my interview was apparently really good, and they know me, I've published with them before and could start right away - they took someone else. But apparently all that is not enough. Editors want somebody with work experience, but how are you meant to get any more work experience if nobody gives you a job? I am past unpaid internships. There are bills to pay. And q...Which...

Gypsy, the busking Opera singer. Southport residents were in for a treat last night, as their favourite street busker took to the stage at Southport Theatre, only four months after she started busking. Singer Gypsy has captured the town's heart with her amazing voice, singing Opera aries in every weather on Southport's busy and windy streets. Residents showed her how much they love and appreciate her, by filling the theatre to maximum capacity for her very first concert. It is one thing for a street busk...

Aus seiner Feder stammen unter anderem Bicycle Race (I want to ride my bicycle), Don‘t stop me now und vor allem Bohemian Rhapsody. Ihre Songs sind weltberüh...

Yesterday I have made a decision that could really help me to further my career. At least that's what I hope. I have just signed up to do a Diploma in Freelance Journalism at the British College of Journalism, Oxford. It's a short course by distance learning, aimed at those who want to make a career as freelance writers. I wanted to get my NCTJ qualification. But until then, I'm doing the British College of Journalism course, which will give me a tutor from the field of travel journalism (FINALLY! Distan...

Germany is through to the Quarterfinals at the 2010 World Cup. And knocked out England in the process. As a German national, I don't really see the problem all my British neighbours have with this outcome of last Saturday's match. I myself was rather jubilant. What can I say? While the Lions were only roaring, the Eagle was soaring. When I suggested flying the German flag from our house in Britain, my other half shrieked: "Do you want to get us killed? Having experienced the World Cup in Britain so far, ...

Shoestring issue # 6 out now! The latest issue of my travel magazine Shoestring is now online! Check out the entire magazine on Shoestring Travel Magazine. Tuesday, February 14, 2012. What do you have to do to get a job? Here's the thing: I graduated with a really good degree. Since 2004 I've been doing work experience as reporter and photographer worlwide. I speak 2 languages fluently, two more on a more basic level. My final grade in my degree was better than that of a few (working) journalists I know.
