In the context of the TREASURE project, three facilities have been constructed for treatment of stormwater runoff from urbanized areas. The facilities are located in the Danish cities of Silkeborg, Århus and Odense. All facilities are wet detention ponds, but the treatment has been extended with additional unit operations for removal of dissolved and colloidal pollutants. I forbindelse med LIFE-TREASURE projektet er der blevet etableret 3 demonstrationsanlæg, der hver bygger på forskellige teknologier til rensning af afstrømmende regnvand. In the pond in Silkeborg, aluminum salts are mixed flow proportionally into the incoming stormwater thereby producing insoluble aluminum hydroxide flocs with good settling properties. The aluminum hydroxide flocs have a high sorption capacity for both phosphate and heavy metals. Accordingly, these pollutants are removed by sorption and subsequent sedimentation in the pond. Demonstrationsanlæggene, der blev etableret i forbindelse med TREASURE projektet, har været udstyret med on-line monitering af flow, pH opløst iltkoncentration, turbiditet, temperatur og nedbør. Derudover er der blevet udtaget flowproportionale vandprøver fra anlæggenes ind- og udløb. Vandprøverne har været analyseret for en række vandkvalitetsparametre, herunder indholdet af næringssalte, tungmetaller og organiske mikroforure...I samarbejde med Aarhus Universitet.

Anlægget i Århus modtager afstrømmende regnvand fra et separatkloakeret beboelsesområde i Århus by med et samlet areal på 55 ha, hvoraf det reducerede oplandsareal udgør 26 ha.
