Final & Eva: Back in the Saddle!
http://babyfinal.blogspot.com/2009/07/back-in-saddle.html
Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Back in the Saddle! I'm back to riding y'all, and it feels great! I rode 4 times this past week. The first two times were just at the walk with a thick bareback pad on, and then last Sunday I rode at the walk and canter in my saddle! Last night I rode for about 30 mins., walking, trotting (posting) and cantering. It was great! That would have been terrible for him and I. I'm even thinking of maybe a show in November.Starr Vaughn perhaps. We'll see. They've taught me so much.

Final & Eva: Ellen News!
http://babyfinal.blogspot.com/2009/11/ellen-news.html
Wednesday, November 25, 2009. My instructor and friend, Ellen Eckstein, has just published a book! She also has a brand new training website up. I've posted the links under my "links" section. Check them out! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm proud to say that Final has helped me earn my Bronze Medal from USDF. My beloved Yochi got the scores we needed at First Level, and Final helped me get the scores needed at Second and Third Levels. I'm pretty proud of my boys! They've taught me so much.

Final & Eva: Hello Again
http://babyfinal.blogspot.com/2009/11/hello-again.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. I'm back to posting on my blog! Life is very different now than it was a year ago. Our little Izzy is just the center of our world, but I am still making time to ride Final between 4-5 days a week! People said riding would be set on the back burner once I had my baby, but nope, I knew I could balance the two. Ali watches Izzy while I spend time with my other baby. :). We also have great arena lights installed, making riding in the dark much more productive!

Quinn halts at X: Quinn goes wild
http://quinnhaltsatx.blogspot.com/2008/04/quinn-goes-wild.html
Quinn halts at X. Wednesday, April 23, 2008. Well we finally did it! After an awesome workout ( the trot is getting better), we had our first walk outside of the arena and down the driveway to the outdoor arena. He was amazing did not even look at anything going on, even allowed Mattie to lead. I would love to be able to trail ride him and now I feel that this goal is closer. Go Quinn! More work for him tomorrow. We both need to get into better shape. April 23, 2008 at 5:26 PM. April 24, 2008.

Quinn halts at X: My Heart is Broken!!!
http://quinnhaltsatx.blogspot.com/2008/05/my-heart-is-broken.html
Quinn halts at X. Saturday, May 3, 2008. My Heart is Broken! It is Derby day! One of my favorite days of the year. My friend Jen was there to watch the race and placed a few bets for me, Thanks Jen! Why does a sport that I love have to cost horses their lives? This news is so gut-wrenching in the wake of the 2 horses that died in the Rolex 3-day event. My thoughts and prayers are with the owners, trainers, and riders of all of these horses! I will remind him of this when I see him next. April 24, 2008.

Quinn halts at X: Breakthrough!
http://quinnhaltsatx.blogspot.com/2008/04/breakthrough.html
Quinn halts at X. Saturday, April 19, 2008. Well, today I realized that going forward is not going to kill us! I have accepted the fact that even if it is ugly, I have to keep him moving in front of my leg. I don't knpw how many times I have been told this, but it took months of us getting stuck and him playing his half-rear, canter depart trick to get me to just "let go" and move him out. Maybe we won't always be just on the edge of Training level! Back to the barn tomorrow to work on it some more!
