Amy P Haynie: January 2015
http://amyphaynie.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Sunday, January 25, 2015. In the first verse today, Jesus is proclaiming the Good News, then He begins to call His disciples – He doesn’t do it as we would expect. He doesn’t go out looking for the best and brightest of the class of 27 A.D. 8211; instead He calls two sets of brothers from where they are working as fishermen. This model is nothing new. There are several Old Testament examples of God calling those who are at work:. Them bigger than life.

Amy P Haynie: December 2014
http://amyphaynie.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Sunday, December 7, 2014. Comfort, O Comfort My People (Advent 2B). Here we are again for another week – in the parish hall – another police action has been deemed not worthy of examination in the death of another black man – more people are out protesting in more cities - do you ever feel as though you are on the endless hamster wheel? Wash – rinse – repeat. What can I say – what can I do? What can we do as a group? If we are to emulate saints, IR...

Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Monday, June 15, 2015. The Rabbi's Gift as the Smallest Seed. No, I am sorry," the rabbi responded. "I have no advice to give. The only thing I can tell you is that the Messiah is one of you.". When the abbot returned to the monastery his fellow monks gathered around him to ask, "Well what did the rabbi say? Could he possibly have meant one of us monks here at the monastery? If that's the case, which one? Do you suppose he meant the abbot? As they con...

Amy P Haynie: February 2015
http://amyphaynie.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Saturday, February 28, 2015. March 1 Worship Service for ECWF. The Officiant begins the service with one or more of these sentences of Scripture, or with the versicle “O Lord, open thou our lips” on page 42. Jesus said, “Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”. The following Confession of Sin may then be said. The Officiant says to the people. Let us humbly confess our sins unto Almighty God. Glory to...

Amy P Haynie: We are Family - Jesus says So
http://amyphaynie.blogspot.com/2015/06/we-are-family-jesus-says-so.html
Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Sunday, June 7, 2015. We are Family - Jesus says So. Did you all hear me take a long, deep, cleansing breath earlier this week? Today in the inner story, we get a lesson about the Unforgivable Sin – insulting the Holy Spirit. This one always worries me a bit – how about you? God as Parent to us all, bless this your family. Amen. The audio will be on the PodBean Player on the right sidebar. Please be graceful with me and others! By Amy P Haynie. Partne...

Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Sunday, June 29, 2014. That We may be Made a Holy Temple to You. 8220;That we may be made a holy temple to you…” We’re not asking for much today are we? Our Scripture lessons today certainly lend themselves to further examination and discussion on how we believe ourselves to be following in the footsteps of the apostles and the prophets, and building on our chief cornerstone: Jesus Christ as we attempt to become those holy temples. Then we have our re...

Amy P Haynie: Lord of the Dance
http://amyphaynie.blogspot.com/2015/07/lord-of-dance.html
Random thoughts, community gathering spot, ramblings. Sunday, July 12, 2015. Lord of the Dance. We have David dancing today too. The Ark is dangerous. In the beginning of the journey, David and others are dancing with songs, and lyres, and harps, and tambourines, and castanets, and cymbals – making a joyful noise and dancing along – then tragedy. Did you notice we skipped a few verses there? Who will you ask to dance with us? Please be graceful with me and others! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
