73rd Heavy Tank Battalion. The 756th Heavy Tank Battalion was re-designated the 73rd Heavy Tank Battalion in 1948 at Fort Benning, GA. It has served in the Korean War, Panama Campaign, Haiti incident and Desert Storm. The unit was deactivated at Fort Bragg, NC as the 3rd Battalion, 73rd Armor, 82nd Airborne Division in May 1997. Men and equipment of the 73rd Heavy Tank Battalion await orders to board the LST's at the Pusan Dock.

They were extremely interested in the pictures I brought along and my story about the base. I spoke with you last summer when my husband and I were getting ready to go to Korea. He was with the 44th Engr's and built a bridge called the half and half bridge. I wanted to let you know that we did go and there have been a number of changes. The town of tae jon ni is now Dae Jon Ni. The map coordinates that are on your website are now an elementary school in the town. The town is still a small farming type of community. Etc in the area. It looks nothing like what it was when you all served there.
