The Moss Family Weblog. I’d rather be…. Swim till you’re winning! From winter to spring…. December 8, 2012 — familymoss. A few days ago, Mister Winter arrived in the country. As the kids are always in total denial of the cold, it is near impossible to get them to go out in warm clothes, with socks on (! And wearing a winter coat, hat, scarf and mittens. But I think that by now, they realize that those items actually come in quite handy when you’re outside and it’s minus 10. And, you guessed it, LEGO!

Frisian Frillies: November 2013
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 19, 2013. Return of the garter stitch - Ribbelssssss. Nearly everyone starts with this stitch, it's the first one in any stitch dictionary and it's a stitch that forms the basis of many intricate Shetland pattern: the garter stitch. Bijna iedereen begint ermee, het is de eerste steek in elk stekenboek en het is een steek die de basis vormt van heel wat ingewikkelde kantpatronen uit Shetland: de ribbelsteek. Frisian Frillies: April 2013

Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Bliss went with us on tour last Sunday. With 4 wheels in the car and a roller girl in tow, I set off for Westerlee, for the Alpaca Show. And even though we knew we were heading for an alpaca farm, the sight of a field full of alpacas is always a suprise. The Alpaca Show was all about shearing. And, in our case, spinning alpaca! Bliss enjoyed her first outing! And quite a few people got to try her out. The reviews were mixed. The spinning was lauded by everyone. It was a shame the...
Frisian Frillies: A cowl with a twist - Een cowl met een twist
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-cowl-with-twist-een-cowl-met-een-twist.html
Friday, April 17, 2015. A cowl with a twist - Een cowl met een twist. I have never been a fan of cowls, I never saw the point really. Why knit a cowl, with a set circumference when you can knit a long shawl or scarf, which you can wrap around your neck as loose or tight as you want? Hence, no cowls in my wardrobe. Until recently. See, I got this book on brioche. Long story. Dus, ik had nog geen cowls in mijn kast liggen. Tot voor kort. Want ik kocht een boek over brioche. Een lang verhaal. And then last ...
Frisian Frillies: March 2015
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. Meeting the likeminded folk - Vergaderen Plus. Whenever I tell people that one of my hobbies is spinning, I often have to clarify that this does NOT involve a gym, or a bike. Last weekend, no explanation and clarification was necessary, because we were here. Tadaaa. See, chair on the left, that's mine. Maar niet alleen het bestuur hoor. Ik zit hier in Fryslan in een spingroep, en in oktober zitten we weer met zijn 200 in een zaal te spinnen. Ik kan niet wachten! We hadden afgelope...
Frisian Frillies: September 2013
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 10, 2013. I blinked a few times, flew to Ireland and back, had the odd adventure en route and there you have it: wind, rain, falling leaves. We're slowly slipping into Autumn. Time for hot chocolate, soup and spinning. But not before a short recap of the spinning Summer! I did continue with the Tour de Fleece while we were on holiday in Ireland. Spinning on the beach: yes, it can be done! It does get you some weird looks, but also lots of admiring smiles. It didn't go very fast though.
Frisian Frillies: New needles and a pink shawl - Nieuwe naalden en een roze shawl
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2015/04/new-needles-and-pink-shawl-nieuwe.html
Tuesday, April 7, 2015. New needles and a pink shawl - Nieuwe naalden en een roze shawl. The shawl came off the needles a while ago, but I promised I'd blog about it - also because I used some needles I testdrove for my lovely LYS at Wereldwol. She had ordered a bunch of bamboo needles from Chiaogoo and wanted to know whether they knit well. And what better to knit on bamboo circs than a humongous gigantic shawl? From skein to ball. Needles at the ready! Van streng naar bal. Naalden in de aanslag! Een mi...
Frisian Frillies: October 2013
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Spindling in a church. Not your everyday location for a yarny event. If you don't take all the 'long yarns' into account that may have rolled off the pulpit here in years gone by. After holding the 'Brei- and Haakdagen' in Nieuwegein for a few years, the organizer realized that there was a great desire for a similar event in the north of the country. Tijdens de voorbereidingen werd ik gevraagd of ik weer spintolworkshops wilde geven. Niet alleen de korte, zoals in Nieuweg...
Frisian Frillies: July 2014
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 28, 2014. Spindle tripping - Toch tollen op vakantie. Of course, I just had to stash the spindle into my craft bag. Guinness Froth is coming along nicely. I finished the back, front side panels and am working on the first sleeve. Knitting short rows for a sleeve head in a dimly lit tent, however, is not something I'd recommend. I also packed 4 extra (small) knitting projects. Which I didn't knit, but hey, it's better to bring too much than too little! Grrrr, which I only find about now!
Frisian Frillies: June 2013
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 30, 2013. Tour de Fleece 2013 - we've started! The first two stages have been spun up. There will be some hardcore spinning going on in Casa Peeriewinkle! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). 38, translator, knitter, gardener, wife and mom (not necessarily in that order). Now also spinning and weaving. Yes, it's a slippery slope. View my complete profile. Frisian Frillies: February 2013
http://frisianfrillies.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 15, 2013. I have a thing for gizmo's. Especially when it comes to crafting, everything seems to have a 'YOU NEED THIS' label. And as soon as someone shows me, I'm done for. Hook line and sinker. Sold. Give. Me. That. This is baby camel and silk. Flying onto the bobbin. The WooLee Winder I got comes from De Spinners. In Den Haag, and it arrived in a box with 3 bobbins. Enough to do spinning and plying. Me happy. And while we were rolaging along. a shop idea was born. Well, basical...Becau...
