LifeofRileys: October 2013

Tuesday, October 08, 2013. What I Read in September - "Required" Reading. The book club I'm in chose to read "One Glorious Ambition". In each state, she met with the officials and in many cases, convinced them that a facility for "the least of these" was a necessity. She met with many setbacks along the way and also battled severe illness throughout. I admire her vision and her absolute focus on relieving the suffering of so many. I laughed and I cried and I didn't want it to end. It also led to grea...

LifeofRileys: February 2013
http://lifeofrileys-co.blogspot.com/2013_02_01_archive.html
Sunday, February 17, 2013. Our 2nd son, Chase, turned 16 on February 4th. He wants to take a few friends to either paintball or bowling, but we haven't fully worked out the dates and details, so that will be later this month. On his actual birthday, he wanted me to make homemade biscuits and gravy for breakfast. Only I don't do gravy. I do not have the patience for it. So he made his own. :) Hey, I did make the biscuits from scratch, though. He ordered the Lamb Masala and Scott had Chicken Masala. I'm re...

LifeofRileys: July 2012
http://lifeofrileys-co.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 29, 2012. Summer 2012 - Week 9. July 23 - July 29. We are starting to work our way more quickly down our summer list. In June, there always seems to be so much time. By the end of July, not so much. One of the things we had on the list this year was tie-dye. So I bought some t-shirts on sale at Hobby Lobby and we got busy. They did a great job, but somehow I only got a picture of one finished product. This is Declan's:. One evening after dinner, we headed to a local park. Summer 2012 - Week 8.

LifeofRileys: October 2011
http://lifeofrileys-co.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Sunday, October 02, 2011. I had such grand plans last weekend. To decorate for fall. To plan the school week. To do a fun movie night on Sunday. But if you know me , you know I always say.we plan, God laughs. By Monday, I knew I was on the mend so I managed to at least drive Brenna to her babysitting job and do a little bit of schooling. Tuesday I still was not 100% but feeling so much better. We still managed to fit in our Five in a Row for the little guys. This week's book was. On Friday night we made ...

LifeofRileys: June 2013

Friday, June 21, 2013. Summer 2013 - Week 3. June 10 - June 16. This week both Chase and Brenna were gone, at the high school camp, for our church. This year it was held in Ft. Collins at the CSU campus. These pics are of one of their day trips, to Fort Fun:. While they were gone, we went to two cheap summer movies: Parental Guidance and Madagascar 3. We also took the little guys to eat at Fuzzy's Tacos one night. So strange to only have kids young enough to order off the kids menu again! June 3 - June 9.

LifeofRileys: August 2012
http://lifeofrileys-co.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 29, 2012. Summer - Week 13. August 20 - August 26. I'm still calling this a summer post, although some of our fall activities started up this week. So it was kind of a half and half week. Aiden had his first Cub Scouts meeting of the year, which was really just a kick-off for popcorn sales. They don't charge dues in his troop, so they make a big push at popcorn time to cover the troop's expenses for the year. Fundraising is NOT my favorite thing to do. Aiden is beginning 4th grade.

http://lifeofrileys-co.blogspot.com/2013/10/a-new-start.html
Tuesday, October 08, 2013. Anyway - back to my point. I am still going to try to get caught up. But in the meantime, I'm going to just jump back in. If you know me, you know one of my passions is reading. To me, it's as necessary each day as eating, brushing my teeth, or hugging my kids. I simply can't fathom life without it. So I'm going to start posting book reviews on here. As well as recipes, and just life in general. Wish me luck! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

LifeofRileys: January 2012
http://lifeofrileys-co.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 30, 2012. January is a long month. I found this old post in my drafts folder. This was back before we all got sick in early February. Thought I'd go ahead and post it. This month has seemed extra long for some reason. I have to say I'm glad it's about to end. Nothing bad has happened, it's just been very busy and February brings us one month closer to summer and a less hectic schedule. Liam started crawling this week! I am not quite ready for that. But I don't get much say in it. ...Zane ...
