Quilting in My Pyjamas

Monday, July 06, 2015. Nothing to see here . Since I last made a grand appearance on my own blog, Mr P and I have done a long weekend trip where I managed to take one photo while I ate my way through Melbourne. I went away for work and woke up to this view . I spent some quality time with my sewing posse which is only one of two times I've picked up a needle and thread in the last 4 weeks. A large part of my day involved unpicking less than stellar quilting. Links to this post. Tuesday, May 19, 2015.

Quilting in My Pyjamas: August 2014

http://fairybreadmusings.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 25, 2014. What's been going on at Maison Pyjamas. There hasn't been a lot of blogworthy news going on at Maison Pyjamas of late so I've been practicing silence. But mid last week, I had a day off and spent much of it in the sewing room, and then this past weekend I gave sewing another fair crack and all this activity finally resulted in something worth sharing. Pssstttt- these two are also getting married in a couple of months which is beyond exciting for our family. And finally, Super E c...

Quilting in My Pyjamas: November 2014

http://fairybreadmusings.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 23, 2014. I went to Costco and Lived to Tell the Tale. I spent the week counting down to Friday because Costco finally opened in Adelaide this week. Friday was my first chance to get there and I went with the lovely Taz from. And her gorgeous daughter, Amy. Taz is the most awesome shopping buddy ever because she turns her judgement filter off , and doesn't ask pesky questions like " Do you really need that? And "What are you going to do with 12 kilos of chocolate chips? And don't think f...

Quilting in My Pyjamas: July 2014

http://fairybreadmusings.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 22, 2014. Evolution of a Quilt. You may recall, a week ago I did a post about a rainbow of colour that I saw on my sewing room floor and the subsequent idea that popped into my brain. For a new quilt. Seriously people - sometimes you just gotta go with the flow, and so last week that's what I did. How it looked on Sunday when inspiration struck. On Monday I cut all those fabrics into strips. Tuesday - More cutting of plain fabric and I started strip piecing. Stats for the week:. I'm hoping ...

Quilting in My Pyjamas: When the Sewing Bug Bites....

http://fairybreadmusings.blogspot.com/2015/05/when-sewing-bug-bites.html

Tuesday, May 19, 2015. When the Sewing Bug Bites. Marrakesh.sitting in the lounge waiting for me to decide if the centre rectangles need quilting. Charming Stars has been living on the sewing room floor for about three months .and has cat puke on it I think. Miss Elizabeth hasn't been touched in about two months . I started this HST quilt a few months ago but progress had stalled. And my Swoon blocks are driving me slightly mad , but at least they're only a couple of weeks old. Here's the front . Glad th...

Quilting in My Pyjamas: In Search of Chocolate Chip Cookie Greatness

http://fairybreadmusings.blogspot.com/2015/05/in-search-of-chocolate-chip-cookie.html

Sunday, May 10, 2015. In Search of Chocolate Chip Cookie Greatness. P at The Way I Sew It. Sent me a recipe which called for Crisco which isn't easily obtainable here, so I went online and had some sent over from USA Foods In Melbourne. It arrived on Thursday so I set about making her recipe on Saturday. You Americans just love to make shit difficult don't you? Round Two and Three went a little better.although I got distracted by Pinterest and Cupcake Mania on my iPad so some of my cookies got baked ...

Sunshine? Paradise?: Equator and Maldives

http://sunshineparadiseplease.blogspot.com/2015/08/equator-and-maldives.html

Friday, August 7, 2015. Thank you so much for reading my last post and commenting. I was surprised that anybody still had my blog in their feed. After the crappy weather, lots of sunshine and warmth. A cocktail (or two) of course. A souvenir from crossing the equator. Returned to the Maldives, a lot has changed since I was last there in 1987. The water is still beautiful though. August 7, 2015 at 2:43 PM. August 7, 2015 at 2:47 PM. Oh I want to go there! August 7, 2015 at 5:04 PM. What a beautiful trip.

Meandering Quilt Thoughts: August 2015

http://quiltygirl1981.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 31, 2015. Need a Bigger House for my Hobbies! It's still pretty dang hot around here, but I am holding out hope for some coolness in the (hopefully) near future, as tomorrow is September! Yay, birthday month! My friend gave me a hand quilting frame this week, I already have a regular old-fashioned one, but this is a fancy roll up, tilt-y one. I brought it home and it's bigger than I expected and I don't know if I can find anywhere to keep it! These two little monkeys were playing quietly u...

QUILTYGAL: Busy Busy Busy

http://quiltygal.blogspot.com/2013/02/busy-busy-busy.html

QUILTING FOREVER HOUSEWORK WHENEVER. Sunday, February 17, 2013. Was a really busy weekend we had a get together on Saturday at Shays. There was lots of laughter, chatter and of course chocolate. Brought show and tell, her Antique Quilts that were a recent purchase on her trip to the USA. They were brought at Huston. First up was a 1920's Pickle Dish. Her second quilt was a Feathered Star. Denise and I decided to try it out. Again stunning hand quilting. Go to her blog. For the full story. Ive been thinkin...

shoebox full of possibility | April Sewing Journal

https://aprilsewingjournal.wordpress.com/2015/03/15/shoebox-full-of-possibility

Shoebox full of possibility. Here is my newest quilt – a shoebox full of various sized red and pink squares. It leans a little too much toward primary red. I intend to put green frames around the blocks, but not Christmas, so I need to add some more pink. I have an idea of wonky pieced squares floating in green with a wonky bright pink square and then green again. In any case, more to come…. On March 15, 2015 at 1:23 pm Leave a Comment. Meandering Quilt Thoughts: Busy Life

http://quiltygirl1981.blogspot.com/2015/02/busy-life.html

Friday, February 20, 2015. Christmas was great, but a little quiet compared to last Christmas since we were missing 2 kids this year. I've been to several states over the past couple of months for a wedding, baptism and a move. I made this quilt for my new bedroom, to drape over the old chair in the corner, flannel on the back - perfect size and very cozy:. Here is the quilt I made for the baptism boy - soft minky on the back:. PS We welcomed the 9th grand baby on Christmas Eve - she is darling!

not so new skirt plus bonus | April Sewing Journal

https://aprilsewingjournal.wordpress.com/2013/10/13/not-so-new-skirt-plus-bonus

Not so new skirt plus bonus. I looked back and I never posted this skirt. I bought the fabric for a birthday present. I spent a lot of time on it because of the plaid. I sewed it, then ripped it out completely and then hand basted it together to get the plaid to match, well not exactly, but close enough. On October 13, 2013 at 8:23 am Comments (1). Lucy's World Trip: June 2011

http://lucyrabbit.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Lucy Rabbit's photos and diary of her World Blog Tour 2011/2012. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. Lucy must be having a good time with Mrs P. In Adelaide, she is probably spending a lot of time in her Pyjamas so not much different from home really :-). She has sent me a lovely postcard to say how much fun she is having and also a beautiful little suitcase full of chocolates. I've also been told she had been a bit naughty! She had better start behaving herself or I might have to cut her holiday short! Now Lucy i...

Meandering Quilt Thoughts: Christmas Dolly Quilts

http://quiltygirl1981.blogspot.com/2014/12/christmas-dolly-quilts.html

Tuesday, December 16, 2014. I have 5 granddaughters and for Christmas this year, I made them each a "Dolly Quilt" out of scraps. For the modified "drunkard's path", I used the amazing "Quilt Smart", a fusible interfacing, you cut most of it out, so it's not too stiff, and it's easy peasy, lemon squeezy! I also made this pretty quilt for my beautiful sister, Heidi, out of a jelly roll and some white fabric. For her birthday. Hope your holidays are merry! My Huge Quilt Studio! QUILTYGAL: Favourite Thing Friday

http://quiltygal.blogspot.com/2013/01/favourite-thing-friday.html

QUILTING FOREVER HOUSEWORK WHENEVER. Friday, January 11, 2013. So finally managed to get Blogger to co-operate so I can make this actually on Friday . Linking up with the lovely and I may say extremely humerous Shay over at Quilting in my pajamas. My Favourite thing this week is a new POM.Pattern of the month. I had decided that this year,as every year really,I was going to finish all the half done things languishing in my sewing room so of course when I saw The Sugar Block Club. I love the idea of BOM&#...

Fairy Bread - Der Blog über unser Familienleben mit Down Syndrom

Samstag, 14. Oktober 2017. Fairybread Quilts

I must *Finish* something. I *Will* finish *Something*. Sunday, April 29, 2012. Anyway, the old computer began to go downhill again very quickly, and it was obvious that any further repair would be throwing good money after bad, so off to the Apple Store I went (very excited I was too)! There has been a pretty steep learning curve, but I have to tell you that I have had "help". Those of you in on the secret don't need telling, but those of you who aren't; "help" in the world of computers does. This is th...

Fairy Bread Thoughts

Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Hang in there, trooper. You're on your way. Yes, after those 12 more case authorities. And, do me a favour. Go and buy yourself a bottle of wine and the new donna hay magazine tomorrow - treat yourself. You've been working like a trojan. You deserve this. Look after your precious self. LAYPS. As Rosalie would say. Fairy bread is practically perfect in every way. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. Love is a Battlefield. Monday, August 16, 2010. Even though compared to many of my conte...
