Tuesday, 6 November 2012. I have started my fourth child's knitted hat (or beanie) for charity donation. My friend Philippa started me off during our time in Tasmania for the orienteering championships. The pattern is very simple in 3x3 rib and easy to do in the car (as a passenger! Or in front of a TV program. Here are the latest two hats. Monday, 5 November 2012. Many of the cacti were flowering as a bonus. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Follow this blog with bloglovin. Spring Blossom Quilts: Quilt Top Finished
http://springblossomquilts.blogspot.com/2013/02/quilt-top-finished.html
Monday, 18 February 2013. Another finish for 2013! A completed top in 'French General Rouenneries' fabrics for my Mum for Mother's Day. I made one for Dad for his 80th also using the "Broken Bricks" pattern in greys and taupes. I pieced a backing from the same range of fabrics (still working through a FQ pack I bought from the US when the dollar first hit 1:1 ). The quilt top is off to a machine quilter on Sunday. Connected Quilters: September 2012
http://connectedquilters.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Tuesday, September 18, 2012. I made this dress a month or so ago and have been wearing it ever since. It's the 'Twiggy Dress' pattern from Style Arc patterns. I don't know why it's named this as I am definitely no Twiggy! It's made out of a winter knit and I wear it with tights and a long sleeve t-shirt underneath. It has just enough curvy-ness in the princess seams to be flattering and the neck and sleeve bands can be made in a contrasting colour if desired. Monday, September 3, 2012. We're a group of f...

Thursday, June 27, 2013. Yesterday Michelle led us on a meander round Melbourne city's arts and crafts lanes and shops. We saw lots of great laneway graffiti, Tessuti Fabrics, Craft Victoria, Morris and Sons wools, the Manchester Unity and Nicholas buildings with their interesting architecture, Melbourne's smallest cafe and smallest bar, L'Uccello's vintage fabrics and wares, Kimono House and lastly we caught the tram up to GJs to finish off our day. Connected Quilters: August 2012
http://connectedquilters.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 29, 2012. This week I have made two cushions from class samples - one from long ago (New York Beauty foundation piecing at Gail's in Ballarat) and one from recently (Harlequin Stars foundation piecing using freezer paper from Ballarat Patchwork). I didn't think I would make quilts to go with these blocks so cushions seemed a good idea. The New York Beauty one has the addition of some Alexandra Henry Heath fabric in black which I love. It feels satisfying to have some more UFOs completed!

Connected Quilters: May 2013
http://connectedquilters.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 25, 2013. Getting out the knitting needles and crochet hooks. It's definitely time for another Friday update. We're all obsessed with knitting and crocheting at the moment. Louise has discovered blocking as a technique to finish her work nicely. She's making a gorgeous crocheted cape for her daughter. This is a picture of the pattern. Can't wait to see it finished. A crocheted scarf using Noro yarn, also by Louise. Louise's daughter made this beautiful textile print as part of her art course.
