Friday, April 25, 2014. Inserting Lots of Images into Word Documents. Typically our reports have appendices with hundreds of images in them. Inserting each one individually, formatting, and adding a caption is impractical. This post discusses a method using macros that accomplishes this task. Back in MS Word from the developer tab click the Macros button and run the macro titled "RunInsertPicturesGUI". Click on the Numbering. Button and then uncheck Include chapter number. Below is the final result.

Tuesday, May 14, 2013. 7Zip is the best out there IMO, but it's command line interface lacks some of the needed features above without resorting to a FOR loop in a batch file. I have been using gzip for windows. Which supports the requirements. Simply put gzip.exe in your path and use like this. Compress entire folder: gzip -r * where -r is recursive into subfolders. FileSaveAs("Portable Network Graphics",".png"). Directory(1) sets the working directory to the last file open directory. Just open the first file in the folder and close before running the macro.
