exploring the riverbed

Friday, April 15, 2011. Flower in the box. Sourness of an unknown tropical fruit took you through the colours of the the women's market. You walked in trance passing Phaneks and faces wrinkled like intricate folklores. In front of the Kangla Fort, you saw bare bodies of mothers screaming at the cold iron gate of a rapist state. In Manipuri farms, rubik's cube of political strategy lay shattered with blood clotted all around it. Snakes slithered through your dreams as you clutched the pillow for help.

exploring the riverbed: May 2008

http://exploringtheriverbed.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Sunday, May 18, 2008. River was frantically rivering with all its riverness. A cool mountain wind passed me. soothing the bruises from river rocks. Snakes copulated among dry leaves with never ending spiral frenzy. Empty beer bottles and condom covers scattered among the remains of the abandoned forest watch tower. I sat among the yellow flowers and ancient rocks, as arrack. Traced the perimeters of my intestine. Fireworks from a distant temple painted flowers in the dark sky. I smiled and slept.

exploring the riverbed: March 2008

http://exploringtheriverbed.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 30, 2008. Boy dived into the river. Water pressuring the ear drum and lungs. Water creating another space with a dimension so abstract. so hypnotising. Each grass. each small bubble escaping from the lungs, moves with the splendour and energy of a cosmic particle. Moving up to the surface.taking one deep breath, he dived back to be greeted by the mud and sand, disturbed by himself previously. I cycled through the riverbed. I raced to trace the dried river. with evening wind against me.

exploring the riverbed: February 2011

http://exploringtheriverbed.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 20, 2011. There was a place where I used to hide. The place where I was assimilated with the melancholy of loneliness. Under the creaky bed, where the spider with zebra stripes lived. I lay there watching the theater of feet and slippers, fought with invisible enemies and watched the spider as he waited for his prey. I wanted to take my little brother to my world. To the source of the stories which I told him before we went to sleep. Links to this post. Sunday, February 13, 2011. They ca...

All Sorts Of Things: January 2010

http://allsortsofshrink.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

All Sorts Of Things. Sunday, January 31, 2010. Mallus, Fish and Coconut Oil. It's been two weeks since I moved in with Minto. And I am having quite a bit of fun. For starters I have cut down heavily on Outside Food and am having more home cooked food. Simple but tasty home cooked stuff. Bliss. I always liked cooking. I never could, because I'm too lazy to learn. I never would because I do not like cooking for just myself. Life gets only as good as you can share it, I believe. Today we got some Sardine.

Exploring The Roots

VIEWS OF AN EXPLORER. Tuesday, December 21, 2010. Yesterday I was just roaming around on facebook, as usual writing embarrassing comments on my friend's status messages. And in response to my friend Akshay's status, "Criticizing is an art if you know how to.". The idea behind this is to initially give the impression of agreement and appreciation, causing a metaphorical erection. Then as the guy indulges himself in all the praise and admiration, smack. Example: OMG Akshay, I love your status messages....
