As I am sure most of you know we have just had the 2010 Winter Olympics here in Vancouver - WELL DONE VANCOUVER! I was out and about on four different occasions taking pictures of the people and places - it was certainly the time of many peoples lives- we can only be very happy and very proud of all the people who made this the world class event that it was! Sunday, November 29, 2009. With all the moving and digging we have been doing, some of our clematis plants have been recovering in pots, and two or three haven't done well. We lost Crystal Fountain as it was in a pot during one of the coldest of winters that passed during 2008/2009. So sad! We are looking for a replacement as it was one we loved and we will just have to learn to put the plants into the ground ASAP. I think it was just rotting weeds there. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Friday, November 24, 2006. John Warren is a very large flowered clematis. A pleasant surprise when it finally performed. Our mystery clematis has turned out to be a new and improved Miss Bateman. This plant is growing very successfully in a pot, but last year it was one that was 'pruned' of every budding blossom by the squirrels before we could identify it. Peaches and Cream Prize! Steep hill.almost dropped the prize. Watch for traffic on two feet, left. Envious neighbour, above. And we store it where the crows and other scroungers can take it from us, high on the end of a tree branch. Duh! Apples are often treated like candy if you cut them into pieces the squirrels can pick up. Skins are avoided. Sunflower seeds can get one into trouble! Squirrels like peanuts in the shell.
