Elizabeth Pols : Statement

Glacial Potholes and Other skulls. To see a shooting star you need really to be alone, with and in the universe; but having seen it, you long to ask, Did you see that? Morning light from the painting studio. November 28, 2014. September 18, 2014. I was delighted by a visit from a couple of these Limenitis arthemis astyanax butterflies. They enjoyed slurping up moisture from the garage floor and didn’t mind my photography and sketching as they raised and lowered their wings. Seeing these up close brought to mind the words regal, stealth and terrifying. May 21, 2014. To Say Thank You. May 6, 2014. A recent watercolor as a response to a very kind gesture. March 14, 2014.
Elizabeth Poole's Artwork
The only constant is change. Elizabeth lives and works in the mid-Hudson valley north of Manhattan. She treasures most the recent juried art quilt show rejection slip that describes her work as "too innovative for category constraints".

The Australian bush where I have been lucky enough to live and work for most of my life is fragile and often fragmented in appearance. My time and observations are divided between the area known as Wallum, which is basically floodplains and heathland surrounding Noosa’s lake and river systems, and the even more sparse, as well as bony, dry inland. I am also interested in observing and recording the forms and patterns of the earthlings which inhabit these areas.
