Bonnie's Travel Journal: April 2008
http://bonnietravels.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 26, 2008. I was selected by my school to participate in the Texas Aerospace Scholars. Program at Johnson Space Center! I got to help build a robot, go on a wicked awesome tour of NASA, and learn about internship/co-op opportunities available to Engineering students. This was definitely one of the best weekends, not to mention my trip to see La Boheme Saturday night! Me standing at the Flight Director console in Historic Mission Control! Failure is NOT an option! Friday, April 11, 2008.

Monday, December 29, 2008. Jocelyn and I are going to be Aggies. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Mission Control Tour/NASA Edge. Keri was coming into town to see the NASA Edge guys, so I arranged a tour of Mission Control before dinner. Jason, on of my NASA mentors from CAS last spring took us around Historic Mission Control, ISS Control, and Shuttle Control. NASA was running a sim in Shuttle control, so it was pretty cool to see people at work. Jason showed us his console! Hanging out at Gene's console.

Meme from Karolyn C. Apr 28th, 2008 at 10:30 PM. 1 What was I doing 10 years ago? I was a stay at home mom. Perry was about nine months old, and we lived in grad student family housing for UC Berkeley in Albany, in the Bay Area of Northern CA. Our Relief Society had the best book club. Ever. I'm still hoping that someday I'll come across a list of the books we read and were planning to read. We were normal. Really. There are normal people in Berkeley.) ;o) Quite a few, in fact. Go for a bike ride. If I'm...

The song in my head. Mar 24th, 2008 at 3:14 AM. Sometimes when things get especially hairy, and I feel like I've been pushed into a corner, I get scared. All very normal. All this weekend while running around doing things I wasn't sure I'd be able to do, things kept working. Even though some of my health issues were still there, keeping me humble. (heh.hopefully.). I'm wondering how strange this may seem. (though it probably won't stop me from doing it, because it seems harmless enough.). So, the lyrics:.

Saturday, May 31, 2008. I've seen this sign once before. But that time the launch was scrubbed because of fuel sensors in the external tank, and I came home. Not this time! Actually, this picture was taken about 7 hours before the launch, but the MET clock has a built-in 3 hour hold. Even though I was only 3 miles from the launch site here, I couldn't see the orbiter because the RSS was blocking it. I'm 6 miles away! IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH THE TRIP! Tuesday, May 27, 2008. Monday, May 26, 2008. My favorite ...
