Wednesday, March 26, 2014. VIKINGS" tv series, season 1: A brief review. I'm titling this a brief review as I'm certain this has been beaten to death in other places. But it is part of the "inspiration" theme of this site, so I felt obliged to say something about it. Viking Threesomes. More total BS. The idea of ...Final...

End of Turn 2. The mortars move again since they've no targets. I figured they looked better behind the hill hull down, altho this could count as out of LoS since they are Mortars. Must keep up appearances! The two armor platoons continue to the hill. Clearly, they'll be on it hull down Turn 3. Tremendous firepo...

SPEAR TO THE STRIFE. Ancient and Medieval Wargaming - Especially the Dark Ages - in 15, 25 and 40mm. The Viking Legal Team in Action. Snorri is unhappy about your bar tab - VERY unhappy. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Future developments, both in figures and in army lists and rules will be a fantasy variant for these same rules. Tentatively I'm thinking of three levels of magic [low, medium and WOW! So until then, keep your sword sharp and your shield up! Rest between the strife.see you in the fall! One Camp...

Up the Blue!: Neil Thomas: "One - Hour Wargames" WWII Rules - Review and thoughts
http://upthebluefow.blogspot.com/2015/01/neil-thomas-one-hour-wargames-wwii.html
Modern Warfare from Afghanistan to N. Africa to Mexico, and from the 20th C. to the Near Future! Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Neil Thomas: "One - Hour Wargames" WWII Rules - Review and thoughts. Well, perhaps I have something of a "Neil Thomas Problem" [which is definitely a "first world problem"! I read the NT rules for 1HW:WWII a while back soon after getting the book. I have to admit I thought they were woefully inadequate at first - they're so minimal as to be sparse. But lately I've been readi...A fas...

Faithful English Blood
http://wfeb.blogspot.com/2014/11/i-like-uncertainty-in-my-table-top.html
Concerning my "house rules" for early ECW tabletop battles in England. Thursday, November 6, 2014. I like uncertainty in my table top wargaming, therefor it should be no surprise that I will incorporate a number of "fog of war" aspects into "Faithful English Blood" . . . particularly since there are a great many ECW encounters where the stronger force was severely whipped by an apparently weaker foe. I really enjoyed the use of "action cards" and not knowing what would happen next.

Modern Warfare from Afghanistan to N. Africa to Mexico, and from the 20th C. to the Near Future! Sunday, February 15, 2015. One - Hour Wargames WWII Batrep: #8 Melee, p.1. Not to mention the fact that NT has proven me wrong before, so it's worth showing some humility! I decided to pick a scenario I already know well and have played several times. #8 Melee is a "grab the center objective" scenario with sequential reinforcements as shown below:. How to put onto the table? As the rules call for a 4-6" front...

Modern Warfare from Afghanistan to N. Africa to Mexico, and from the 20th C. to the Near Future! Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Just before I left I was working on the 2nd draft of my modifications of the 1HW rules, and playing out scenarios with my WWII desert Brits and Italians. Continuing in that direction, future posts will be:. Finish draft and do a playtest, then post a batrep for a workable draft of the rules. If ideas/concepts flop in execution, then just post what didn't work. SPEAR TO THE STRIFE.

Faithful English Blood: August 2013
http://wfeb.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Concerning my "house rules" for early ECW tabletop battles in England. Saturday, August 24, 2013. Source of Name for my Rules. I'm not completely happy with any of the rule sets for the ECW that I've read . . . so I think that I am going to write my own. And at least I've decided upon a name for my own version of ECW miniature rules . . . and I've taken a clue from Larry Brom's "The Sword and the Flame". Colonial rules by plucking a phrase from a famous English author. To scarlet indignation , and be-dew.
