Preparing Easter brunch after Mass! Easter tulips and homemade Russian Easter bread. Saturday, April 19, 2014. Auntie Elizabeth is here! We picked her up from the airport on Tuesday and have been immensely enjoying our time with her since, especially Michael. Michael enjoyed walking with a "hiking stick.".

Sojourners in Austria: February 2015
http://meldrewsteele.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 13, 2015. First taste of Spain. I had been watching tickets throughout the fall, and snagged a cheap deal to Barcelona for 4 days during the first week of February, the week before the spring semester started! And so, we packed our backpacks, stuffed our double stroller with diapers/wipes, bused to Bratislava, and took Ryanair over to Spain. What else to do on a plane but take "selfies"? Michael is becoming a pro at handling the iPhone camera. Over the Italian Alps. Found a Gaudi house!

Sojourners in Austria: March 2015
http://meldrewsteele.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, March 29, 2015. After my last post, we became quite busy getting into the swing of a new semester again, but have some pictures from February and March to share. Michael keeps asking when the sun is coming out so we can go to the beach, and often makes a tent "on the beach" and takes off his clothes to swim. Dominic likes to pretend he is going somewhere and tells me, "Bye.". Michael likes to line himself and Dominic up and say, "We are soldiers! So here, Papa was teaching them how to salute.

Monday, March 31, 2014. I came across the reflection below at one very opportune moment. Karl Rahner, The Eternal Year. Trans John Shea (Burns and Oates). Also came across this recently on the benefit of solitude and silent moments, especially for women and mothers:. Why do we need solitude (and silence, which often accompanies it)? From 'The Ten Habits of Happy Mothers' by Meg Meeker (a book I'd love to read sometime! Still in awe over these little miracles granted to me! St Augustine, in his Confessions.

Sunday, November 16, 2014. One year ago today, 2 Tbsp, of castor oil finally spurred this little guy out of the womb, 10ish days late, breech and in 1.75 hours. So thankful for the graces surrounding his birth and for his presence in our lives - Dominic provides us with love, joy, and smiles all day long - happy birthday, my precious one! We had a little party that evening, with a few girls who babysit Dominic. Michael was very happy to help Dominic open his gifts.. Wednesday, November 12, 2014. After M...

Sojourners in Austria: May 2015
http://meldrewsteele.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, May 31, 2015. Our May has been quite the busy month. Coming off Easter break and my trip to Istanbul, Andrew and I had papers to write, Andrew's thesis, and final school activities to attend to. I tried my best to leave my studies/music planning for after bedtime to make sure our boys got enough Mama attention. We have been blessed with the best girls for babysitters, but focused attentive parents is still required! I thought I had spotted rows of lilac bushes - sure enough! Mama, help me! One Su...

Sojourners in Austria: July 2014
http://meldrewsteele.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2014. We have been relishing these stay-at-home weeks and taking lots of time to cuddle and play with the boys. The warm summer days are interspersed with rain. Michael has enjoyed listening to thunder, using his umbrella and stomping in puddles. One day last week, we bused to the next town over, then walked 30 minutes to a trail head for a hike. We walked through many beautiful vineyards which lay at the base of the hills behind Trumau. Michael was in very cheerful. Then it was time to...

Saturday, February 22, 2014. 65279;Hi all. Just wanted to take a moment to catch you up with some pictures and a few words. My lapse of blogging was due to an intense German course that Andrew took the last few weeks of January. He attended classes morning and afternoon and spent the evenings studying. We are happy to say that he passed! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment, mostly of the boys and our wintery days. We had only one week of snow this winter! The new school semester started up on Febru...

Meryl Moments: March 2011
http://justaroundthewritersblock.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Tidbits of writing purely for entertainment's sake. Thursday, March 10, 2011. This blog is currently on pause/under construction for several reasons:. 1 I have not had time to think about my blog for the past several months. 2 I am actually going to be working on my book which needed to be finished like.yesterday. 3 I would like to rework the layout of my blog and maybe add some extra features/sections that I think would be enjoyable.
