A Year's Worth of Eating

So many recipes, so much good produce, so little time to eat it all. Kes has far, far too many cookbooks. Not that it stops her from buying more. The idea of dinner is one of the few things that motivates her in the mornings. Just to monitor exactly what goes on in her life, she is sharing her food year. Her Significant Other will make regular appearances, but honestly, you do not want to know what he eats for lunch. Never buy a cook book that doesn't have an author.

A Year's Worth of Eating: Like water for chocolate

http://eatingyear.blogspot.com/2012/03/like-water-for-chocolate.html

A Year's Worth of Eating. Thursday, March 01, 2012. Like water for chocolate. I now know what magical realism tastes like, thanks to spice genius Ian Hemphill. It's a wild combo that somehow works, Old World, New World, undertone, robust and fragile. A taste to make you tear up in a confusing visceral way. It's so absolutely not modern. Does that make it post-modern, or a window to an earlier time? And I'm not suggesting it's musty. But speaking of musty, the only things missing are musk and saffron.

A Year's Worth of Eating: January 2012

http://eatingyear.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

A Year's Worth of Eating. Monday, January 30, 2012. Today I received a beautiful gift from my friend and neighbour Marg. We have been neighbours and pals for about 5 years now, and often share an even beverage in our respective pocket handkerchief sized yards in the inner city. Isn't she absolutely gorgeous? Marg said she needed a home closer to the sea. Thanks hon, she will be much loved, and used often. Here she is in the big smoke waiting to go south and wiggle her tail in the ocean. A Year's Worth of Eating: What's it got to do with food, Part 2

A Year's Worth of Eating. Wednesday, February 01, 2012. What's it got to do with food, Part 2. While up in the big smoke, I spied these at Bev's Remnant House. I love going in there. Bev MacInnes is warm and friendly and interesting and interested. With a lifetime of design and theatre experience I always find I spend at least an hour yakking with her. A fantastic overnight hold all, and what's it got to do with food? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Keep in touch now, you hear. Souvlaki For The Soul.

A Year's Worth of Eating: The new retail

http://eatingyear.blogspot.com/2012/03/new-retail.html

A Year's Worth of Eating. Monday, March 12, 2012. I have an interest in paper cutting as an art form. It's one of the many things I'm interested in. Yesterday, a friend of mine shared the work of a paper cutter, whose work I knew, on FB. I told her about another paper cutter. From a link on the second paper cutter's blog, I found an extremely beautiful blog by a Cuban-American artist. The Cuban artist, Elsa Mora. Has the best About. I've ever seen on a blog. Her work is sensational. It'll be here soon.

A Year's Worth of Eating: Long service leave

http://eatingyear.blogspot.com/2012/04/long-service-leave.html

A Year's Worth of Eating. Monday, April 02, 2012. We are about to go on an extended break. A month. Where? Will be from where you want to visit, and more importantly, eat. And with a the burgeoning blogosphere, your info will be up to date. I spend Saturday arvo interrogating a great blog called LondonTastin. Which alerted me to a restaurant which sounded like a must try. Fay Maschler has very recently given it a 5/5 and the consensus is 'Get there before the Michelin men.' It's called Dabbous. Has a hot...

February 26, 2008 at 4:18 am. About 18 months ago, we took a bit of a driving holiday to Tasmania, and went scoffing in the land down under the Land Down Under. On one of our sojourns we found Grandvewe Sheep Cheesery. Next time you’re passing, do yourself a cheesy favour and drop in to them. We spent a week driving about sampling the best food we could get our hands on and this was one of the highlights. (Travel tip: Buy small esky for car.). Entry filed under: cheese. The Pescavore’s Dilemma Omega 3 anyone. February 21, 2008 at 1:43 am. It’s unfortunate and indeed ironic, that only farmed fish can be considered organic, as fish havested from our seas can’t be ‘interrogated for its pedigree’ as to cleanliness of water, diet, ingested toxins, whether the fish has been caught sustainably or not. Australia’s first organic fish farm, Organic Fish (Australia) Pty Ltd, or. Soulfish silver perch comes from the subtropical climes of near Grafton, NSW. Entry filed under: fish.

February 21, 2008 at 12:48 am. The US Food and Drug Administration has now approved the consumption of food from cloned animals and their offspring. That’s the bad news. (Australia does produce cloned cattle, but sensibly, we don’t eat it). And what’s more those cloned animals may well be eating Genetically Modified feed. Did we learn nothing from CJD? Mothers Sleep Easy Blue Smarties have returned. I don’t know about you, but I just haven’t had a decent night’s sleep since blue Smarties were withdrawn from the market over concerns that their splendidly artificial colour had some link to hyperactivity in kiddies. Nestle, ever the good corporate citizen, has not yet been able to confirm whether the blue Smarties will maintain any of Spirulina’s health benefits. February 13, 2008 at 10:59 pm. Eating Yellow Snow

Try doing something stupid. Sometimes it pays off. Monday, May 23, 2011. I have been converted. After much (okay, some) consideration, I have decided to move this blog over to tumblr. What can I say, it's a really cool way of doing things actually. New URL: http:/ eatingyellowsnow.tumblr.com/. I'll likely transfer some of my favorite stuff from here over there, but this blog is now likely going dormant. Love you all 3. Monday, May 16, 2011. Now what do you mean to say? What would I say if I had no ego?

My last paper for the finals this sem will be on the 19th Jan. Wish I could just fast forward things and go back Melaka soon. I am soooooo home sick. T T. So, what have I been doing recently besides my uni stuffs?
