Backcountry skiing, climbing and adventures from the Adirondacks, the Northeast and beyond. Sunday, November 29, 2009. 1st Day of Ski Seaon 09-10. Finally got a day of skiing! Early morning roadtrip to Jay Peak to ski some of the 20" that fell yesterday. We got there and skinned up Stateside. Got our first turns of the season! Dense, windhammered snow that was variable but skied well for the most part. Typical early season turns before the resort opens. Jay plans to start the lifts up next weekend.

The trail and glades are being trimmed and gear is ready for the first tracks of the season. Relaunch of the blog with pictures and observations from the 09-10 ski season. Tuesday, October 20, 2009. Fall '09 Rock Climbing. Caveman Crack, 5.8 G 50'. Bullhead 5.0 X 60'. Bullhead is an easy solo up the slab to an easy exit. Kate under the roof.
