Make Ubuntu Unity usable in five simple steps. Out of frustration with Unity, I’ve used several window managers/desktops recently. They are excellent at what they do, but I missed how everything (volume control, display brightness, keyboard switcher, sleep on laptop lid close, sound mixer, wifi applet, gnome keyring manager, automounting, etc.). You’ll need to install compizconfig-settings-manager. For most of the tweaks to work. People who say ccsm breaks things are noobs. First, install gmrun. Default ...

Senko's Blog: GUADEC 2006 Wrap-up
http://ptlo.blogspot.com/2006/07/guadec-2006-wrap-up.html
A collection of random thoughts. Sunday, July 02, 2006. I've just recovered from my trip back home from GUADEC (it took me 23rd hours to get home), so a blog post is in order, while all the things are fresh in my head. Having a rock concert. Or just partying at the beach. I've attended several sessions, and I think the hilights have been Kathy Sierra's Creating Passionate Users. Inspirational talk about the future of GNOME (hint: GNOME is people. And all things GStreamer. At home. wtf? In the meanwhile, ...

Ranging from a simple synopsis view (a-la iMovie) to the full-blown editing view (aka Complex View) which puts you in complete control of your editing.Other interfaces can be added via the plugin system, aimed at more specific uses like a SlideShow creator or a subtitling editor. It is even possible to use pitivi without a user interface in order to do batch rendering. The problem could be due to Fedora-specif...

Senko's Blog: March 2006
http://ptlo.blogspot.com/2006_03_01_archive.html
A collection of random thoughts. Friday, March 31, 2006. Diva 0.0.1 is out! Finally, after many months of hard work, we've released a first public version. A new video-editing software app for Linux. Diva is written in C#. And using the GStreamer. Framework. Due to the GStreamer constraints, the first release supports only DV, WAV and image sources, and export to Ogg Theora, and probably crashes all the time. Nevertheless, check it out, and tell us what you think! Posted by Senko at 6:57 PM. The next ann...

Manuel Cerón: Edición de Vídeo Digital en Linux
http://ceronman.blogspot.com/2006/05/edicin-de-vdeo-digital-en-linux.html
Domingo, mayo 14, 2006. En un Linux out of the box. Simplemente no sucede nada c...
