When the forest where the hummingbird lived went up in flames, the other animals ran out to save themselves. But the hummingbird stayed, flying to and from a nearby river with drops of water in its beak to pour on the fire. From a distance, the other animals laughed and mocked it. "What do you think you are doing? They shouted. "This fire is overwhelming. You can't do anything." Finally, the hummingbird turned to them and said, "I'm doing what I can." -as told by Wangari Maathai. What is Violence to Me?

Sunday, August 05, 2007. Blessings to you all from Washington State. I'm currently sitting in the Spiritual Care office of St Peter's hospital, the same building in which I was born 27 years ago next Thursday. I have attempted to write and post several times over the course of the summer, but the computer at the house where I have been staying seems to have a specific block that only targets new posts in this particular format. Odd, I say the least. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Friday, April 28, 2006. The Theology of Detergent. Today served as a reminder that you cannot predict the ways that the Holy Spirit will use you or your words.
