A Good Practice Week – The Beauty of Everyday Things
https://deborahsyogablog.wordpress.com/2013/02/10/a-good-practice-week
The Beauty of Everyday Things. A Good Practice Week. February 10, 2013. Added in a few cobras for good measure. It snowed 2 feet here on saturday, I had to keep switching the shovel to my other hand to take the twisting pressure off the wrist. And now, Sunday, when I would normally practice, but there’s this wrist, and, technically, it’s a moon day. Perhaps we’ll go skating or sledding instead. She who loves herbal tea. New Prints, New House & Saturday Practice – The Beauty of Everyday Things
https://deborahsyogablog.wordpress.com/2014/04/13/new-prints-new-house-saturday-practice
The Beauty of Everyday Things. New Prints, New House and Saturday Practice. April 13, 2014. I mean, I’m baacckk… Think Steven Tyler screaming “I’m back in the saddle again.”. And if you’re too young to know who I mean, well, never mind then. David Garrigues recently wrote about Saturday practice. Pasasana, the noose I hang myself with several times a week. What I know mostly is that I have a long way to go. It’s all about abhyasa at this point, developing a steady, committed, daily practice....As if t...
Summer – The Beauty of Everyday Things
https://deborahsyogablog.wordpress.com/2013/07/13/summer
The Beauty of Everyday Things. July 13, 2013. Summer is lovely. I have been awash in other things and writing for a time has been on the backburner, but I miss it. I can definitely say that I miss it. In a way it is good, this time of allowing my practice to be nonverbal, to practice before writing. Sometimes it’s very difficult to choose what to weed and what to water. It is hard to explain. David Garrigues wrote an article about pain. I wish I could have met Guruji. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Lifetime Practice – The Beauty of Everyday Things
https://deborahsyogablog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/lifetime-practice
The Beauty of Everyday Things. March 22, 2013. My friend Deb just told me about lila. A blog I hadn’t seen before. This post is so good that I wish I’d written it myself. Basically she says that she doesn’t practice yoga to impress anyone with how enlightened she is, she practices yoga because without it things would be so much worse. I feel exactly the same way. Yoga may not solve all my problems, far from it! In Sickness and in Health. 2 thoughts on “ Lifetime Practice. March 26, 2013 at 3:46 pm. I rep...

The Beauty of Everyday Things. January 29, 2016. Someone asked me last night how long I’ve been been practicing Ashtanga. I’m not sure when to start the count. I probably took my first led Ashtanga class about 10 years ago, but I was a flibbertigibbet for some time. And I had already begun teacher training in a style of vinyasa yoga. Don’t even ask me how long I’ve been practicing yoga, I probably won’t give you an honest answer. Decades. New, Anew, Renewed. January 18, 2016. Starting a mysore program, m...

Musings from the Yoga Mat: August 2013
http://musingsfromtheyogamat.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Musings from the Yoga Mat. Monday, August 26, 2013. Today it finally happened for the first time ever in the history of my practice. I fell asleep during Savasana. Our instructor rang a deep gong to signal the end of rest and I was so startled I literally jumped a foot off my mat. I had no idea where I was and I thought the gong was a fire alarm of some kind! I guess when it's time, it's time. Have any of you ever snoozed during Savasana? Friday, August 23, 2013. This Week in Practice. Thankfully, at lo...
Yoga Butt | get it om
https://getitom.wordpress.com/2013/11/03/yoga-butt
Yoga on and off the mat. November 3, 2013. My name is Jeana, and I have yoga butt. Don’t get excited–not that kind. 8220; Yoga butt. You get to do less! Anyway, you’d think this yoga butt thing wouldn’t be that big of a deal, but it can cause pain in not just your hamstrings, but your butt (hence the strange name that obliges one to specify “injury” in a Google search), your back, your IT band, and your knees. In short, it sucks. Sometimes I get a little bored with poses like bridge (I want to do wheel!

Ashtanga-Yoga-Gainesville: Led
http://ashtanga-yoga-gainesville.blogspot.com/2013/02/led.html
Grow your own practice. Where to Practice in Gainesville, Florida? Friday, February 15, 2013. My first led primary with Sharath was yesterday morning.so much fun! We are packed mat to mat in order to fit everyone. I had an awkward spot next to a wall and occasionally bumped knees with the girl next to me, but really, it's easy enough to work around those sorts of logistics. Make me smile. "Why hurry" indeed.where is it we think we're going to get to anyway? February 16, 2013 at 5:23 PM. What do you eat?

Musings from the Yoga Mat. Wednesday, December 18, 2013. Another month has gone by. Time seems to be flowing so quickly lately, it's hard to get my bearings. There has been so much change that I don't know where to start. So I don't. If any of you out there still check this space, thank you for that. I appreciate it more than you know. So why don't I begin with what is constant and what this blog is all about? Yoga Always, yoga. So did I tell you I passed my teacher training? December 19, 2013 at 12:37 AM.

Musings from the Yoga Mat. Sunday, August 18, 2013. Kino - Day Three. Can you see Mr. Ganesha peeking through the leaves? I carried on and she had me do Setu Bandhasana for the first time ever with no hands underneath my shoulders to steady me. That's one I'll need to work on because it was quite precarious. Then Kino gave me the first pose of Second Series! 160;I was so excited! 160;I nearly touched the backs of my ankles! 160;Whatever. I had to post it anyway because it's the only one I hav...160;We...

Musings from the Yoga Mat: This Week in Practice
http://musingsfromtheyogamat.blogspot.com/2013/08/this-week-in-practice_23.html
Musings from the Yoga Mat. Friday, August 23, 2013. This Week in Practice. This week began on the heels of Kino's 3-day intensive workshop in London. By Monday, five nights of serious sleep deprivation combined with all-out physical exertion had taken their toll. Exhausted and utterly depleted, I opted to skip practice on Monday and instead spent the day flitting about the city. It was lovely - relaxed and carefree with only my whims to guide me. Well, I just did it - right there in the middle of practic...

The Beauty of Everyday Things – Deborah's Yoga Blog
The Beauty of Everyday Things. Deborah's Yoga Blog. Chakras, Patterns, #metoo. March 16, 2018. Yesterday I was noodling around some yoga blogs on the internet and found Nobel’s Yoga in the Dragon’s Den. Like me, he hasn’t been writing much in the last few years although for very different reasons. Nobel wrote that his practice has become very regular and almost something that happens in the background of his life in the sense that he doesn’t talk or write about it very much. In Lowell on Saturday March 2...
