Some of life's adventures. Silence=productivity, or does it? July 24, 2014. So, haven’t been hanging around this blog much lately. We have been busy attempting to pack. We have taken one small load to storage ‘near’ our new home and have 20 or so packed boxes that we are living amongst, in our lounge room – yet we seem to have hardly touched the surface. I have every confidence it will happen, somehow, magically overnight. 11 days until we get the keys…. Tax is almost done. Paperwork almost complete ...

Some of life's adventures. November 21, 2014. November 21, 2014. We moved to a small town – small by city standards. It too is nestled in a vibrant, active and nurturing community. A community where everybody knows everybody but is detached enough to be openly critical and blindly judgemental. Life cycle of a Move. Head above water…. I am a boy! AND I am six! All images on the blog are taken by myself (John Grant) unless specified otherwise. My old film camera, it took great pictures. So here is the equipment I currently use:. I mainly use this when I want to carry around a small light weight camera and not the full DSLR. Pictures on the blog of the veggie patch and sightings up at the ‘Country Retreat’, such as the Spotted Flycatcher are typically taken with this. Bought 2009. Canon Eos 550D, Canon 5d mk iii. Canon 18-55mm EFS kit lens:. Though prefer to use...

Some of life's adventures. Head above water…. October 16, 2014. October 16, 2014. Finally, it’s happened. I have a new job! It’s my first NOT ‘working from home’ job in nearly 6 year. It’s exciting. My mind is racing at 100 miles an hour with ideas and plan and projects… and worries. Can I cut the mustard? Do I really understand this stuff that is sprouting out of my mouth? I think I do. We’ll see. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Fill in your details below or click an icon to log in:.

Healdsburg to Yountville …. Big day! | Helen's Travels
https://helenheslop.wordpress.com/2013/10/10/healdsburg-to-yountville-big-day
Life on Sabbatical…. Healdsburg to Yountville …. Big day! By helenlouise31 on October 10, 2013. Today has been the biggest day of the week- 70miles/112km. We have been lucky with the weather and again it has been a beautiful day. The morning started with rolling hills and one mini climb to take us to our coffee stop in Geyserville. Definitely the worst expresso I have had so far on ths trip! First port of call was to the spa – steam room and massage! Larr; Biking to Bodega Bay. Bodega Bay to Madrona Manor.

Life on Sabbatical…. Last night after an epic 15 hour train journey from the Dolomites, I arrived in Interlaken, Switerland. The train from Mestre to Milano arrived 90 mins late so I missed my connecting train in Milan – the rest of the journey went downhill from there! Instead of arriving at 3.30pm in the afternoon, I finally arrived at Kellie’s house at 9.30pm after a 4 hour delay in Milan and two other missed train connections due to late train arrivals! A paraglider is in fact a light weight, free fl...

Biking Napa Valley | Helen's Travels

Life on Sabbatical…. By helenlouise31 on October 14, 2013. The last two days had shorter rides around Yountville. On one day we rode tp to St Helena and took a detour around lake Hennessey. It was a beautiful loop with a decent climb and a long fun descent. Alas I got stung by a bee on the neck during the descent and so I looked a bit strange for the rest of the day with a very swollen neck! On the last day we just had a morning ride- it was however very tough! Now on to San Francisco for the weekend.

Life on Sabbatical…. Bodega Bay to Madrona Manor. By helenlouise31 on October 10, 2013. The scenery then changed as we made our way to Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve. We biked through an area of beautiful redwoods, still tracking the Russian River. We had our picnic lunch in the State Reserve under the redwoods and then 4 of us decided to tackle the Green Valley route for the afternoon. A couple of interesting climbs along the way and the scenery changed back again to vineyards. Enter your comment here.

Weekend in San Francisco | Helen's Travels

Life on Sabbatical…. Weekend in San Francisco. By helenlouise31 on October 16, 2013. On Friday afternoon I took the shuttle back into San Francisco to catch up with Robin and Gordon, friends I had made on the Provence bike trip. I also found a good expresso -not something that has been easy so far! Robin and Gordon at the Farmer’s market. It was then on to Fisherman’s Wharf which turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip- there were hundreds of sea lions hanging out on the decks around Pier...
