black chevrolet: October 2006
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2006_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 31, 2006. I will welcome the rain, the cold, anything to wash down this convulsed atmosphere. Rain will melt the edges, slick the rough surfaces, calm the hurricane and maybe even bring my appetite back. Okay, that was random. Friday, October 27, 2006. I got me a lid. And so it begins. MSF course starts next Wednesday. Tuesday, October 17, 2006. Why does it seem like Nighthawk's only sleeping as they pull the sheet up over her clay wings? I still don't feel very intelligent.). I don't fe...

black chevrolet: CLOSED until further notice
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2010/01/closed-until-further-notice.html
Tuesday, January 19, 2010. CLOSED until further notice. I don't want this blog to become one of those zombie blogs that leave off at a post about an anticipated journey" a rough paraphrase of some wise words by Doug Klassen, whose blog just entered the Death Scroll which has become my collection of links to other people's blogs. Nobody's really writing any more. Not even Toque, who, poet that he is, could be depended upon to contribute something at least every other month. CLOSED until further notice.

black chevrolet: November 2006
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 26, 2006. Thanksgiving break was peaceful and relaxing and properly vegatative. I spent it at Kakashi's house and partook of a real family Thanksgiving dinner, numerous sessions of youtube-watching, two episodes of the Simpsons, an EXCELLENT movie (the 'Proposition') video games and various other time-wasting activities. It was nice. Some proper shot glasses. Goodbye to the days of drinking out of teacups; may they never return. Happy T-day, ya'll. Monday, November 20, 2006. Spent an hou...

black chevrolet: February 2007
http://blackchevrolet.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 22, 2007. I was speaking to a graduate of Notre Dame Architecture program last night and he claimed that "architecture is an art, not a science". I think he might be right. The principles upon which the "science" of architecture are based are inherently practical. Will it stand up? How much will it cost? How long will it last? How will it fit my lifestyle? What kind of Place for Me will it be? All the rules of proportion are aimed to fulfill the answers to these questions. I'm going to...

A Girl With Three Obsessions
http://threeobsessions.blogspot.com/2008/11/how-on-earth-is-baby-shuffling-my.html
A Girl With Three Obsessions. Wednesday, November 12, 2008. How on earth is baby shuffling my organs all the way up here (points to region in upper abdomen)? He’s* not supposed to be all the way up there yet. Maybe it’s the way I’m sitting (shifting). Baby tends to shuffle and kick when he feels his space being encroached upon, I think – he’s definitely getting big enough. No respect for their elders. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). A Girl With Three Obsessions. Saturday, May 17, 2008. How upsetting it is. To look about me and think of the things that. HANDELINGENKAMER TWEEDE KAMER DER STATEN-GENERAAL DEN HAAG. BIBLIOTECA DE LA REAL ACADEMIA DE LA LENGUA MADRID. REAL GABINETE PORTUGUES DE LEITURA RIO DE JANEIRO. TRINITY COLLEGE, DUBLIN. OXFORD UNIVERSITY, ENGLAND. STIFTSBIBLIOTHEK ST. GALLEN. Ah so many books, so little time. But seriously, why would you want to spend your day torturing yourself? But they are lovely looking libraries.

A Girl With Three Obsessions: Modernity
http://threeobsessions.blogspot.com/2008/07/modernity.html
A Girl With Three Obsessions. Saturday, July 05, 2008. I've been reading a novel. Lately, to try and make time pass more quickly during my husband's absence. I think I chose poorly, considering the melancholy nature of my mood (Nordic people are so . . . Where that was the case. It seems people just don't write novels about women like me. In some ways, modernity pretty much rocks - so many of the stodgy social conventions presented in the novel block the eyes of the characters from common sense. Nowa...

A Girl With Three Obsessions: Recommended Reading
http://threeobsessions.blogspot.com/2008/07/recommended-reading.html
A Girl With Three Obsessions. Thursday, July 17, 2008. Hello, Professor Pearce,. I am hesitant to ask you this question, as it is a very large one, but I cannot think of anyone else I know of who is qualified to answer it, and whose taste and ethical standards I would reasonably trust. Homer: The Iliad and Odyssey (of course! Boethius: The Consolation of Philosophy. Augustine: Confessions, and The City of God. Anonymous: Beowulf (Tolkien or Heaney translations). Chaucer: The Canterbury Tales. Austen: Pri...
